What a great day out. The hall is beautiful to walk around. You can take dogs in the ground but not in the hall. The gardens are small but lovely and they have the standard National Trust cafe. Before we went to Leek to the market there. The old market is great, but it was shut for refurbishment, but the markets was outside selling vintage stuff records and other little stall. But be aware the hall shuts at 3.15pm so make sure you leave time to get there as its a 40mins drive to the hall.
Really nicely looked after place, great signs for short walk/long walk and the long walk was lovely. Website hadn't been updated for visiting dogs yet - they are now allowing them in the shop and have a dog friendly section of the restaurant, as part of a roll-out on National Trust properties to be more dog friendly Restrooms: Clean although not many cubicles so there was a bit of a wait. Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly grounds & gardens Also recently dog friendly in the shop and in one section of the restaurant take the disabled access route and you'll see the dog friendly section Great for a lovely dog walk
This is a beautiful place for a day out. It has beautiful grounds to explore with plenty of trails to choose from with either kids or pets and a few choices for something to eat or drink. If you want to go into the house and grounds, it's currently £18 for an adult or £8 for just the grounds. We went for just the grounds today and still spent hours here, but I have done the house in the past, and it's definitely worth seeing.
Lovely 5km walk through the woodlands and along the lake. Very fast service in the cafe, delicious curried cauliflower and chickpea pasty! Toilets were clean and bright and spacious. Staff and volunteers all very friendly and helpful. Didn't make it inside the house this time but will be back! Restrooms: Clean, bright, and spacious ladies. One of the best I've been to at a NT property.
Stopped here after a short break in the Peaks. Really lovely NT house and surrounding grounds. Walked the grounds before heading into the house which is furnished beautifully. Had lunch in the restaurant which was great as you ordered and had your drinks and food brought to you. Much better way of serving customers. Church was also very nice. Would visit again and recommend.
A day at Keddlestone just walking the trails. We did the "Long Walk". Excellent paths suitable for all ages. 3.2 miles. Last part goes along the lakes.. Lunch time.e was so efficient and prompt in bringing food ordered.great system. Will definitely be back in the future
Absolutely fabulous. Such a fantastic house to explore and beautiful gardens with a picturesque church. It's fascinating to explore the Curzons family timeline and to just experience being able to wander around in their home.
Such an awesome place, full of history and tricks. The knowledgable guides are well versed and like to get involved in conversation. The interiors are real wow moments, every time you enter a new room… another wow moment. Don’t forget to look up Restrooms: Very clean and well maintained.
One the best NT houses we have visited. Lots of walks available round the site to suit all abilities. Wonderful that NT now offers a dairy free 'cream' tea.
The grounds are worth the visit on there own. Beautiful and scenic walk I would recommend the long walk we did it with two children quite easily just don’t forget drinks and snacks for the little ones. If you’re not as inclined to do the long walk the short walk is very doable. The estate is beautiful and grand with lots of history, the cafe is quaint too set in the servants kitchen. Although you are better off taking a picnic as it’s just that type of place. Just remember to take a bag for your rubbish as the bins on the walk are far and few between.
