Some wonderful things in here and the place generates an intentional style. It’s expensive but it feels like quality for the price. The person behind the counter seemed friendly and bantery. Made some small purchases which we are happy with.
My friends were browsing the jewellery and discussing different pieces and which ones they liked, and the woman who I assume owns the store while on the phone rudely interrupted them saying "Are you gonna stand there and gossip or are you gonna buy something" - lady do you have ANY idea how to run a business? This is a market, people browse, and until you opened your mouth they were probably gonna buy something. Avoid. To the owner, maybe learn some basic social skills.
The woman in the store, who I assume is the owner, was probably the rudest and snobiest person I have ever met. I walked in and was showing my husband the items that I liked but I wasn't sure if I should get anything large because we are traveling and have limited space left in our luggage. She said that is no excuse and she told us if we want to just look at beautiful things, we should go to a museum. It was unbelievable. We immediately walked out and she lost our business. I walked down to the antique map store that was amazing and spent $300. I hope she reads all of these reviews and adjusts her attitude.
Katrina Phillips is a very unique independent shop that not everyone can understand or appreciate. Some of the reviews above are very unfair. I happened to be in the shop when one of the reviewers was in the shop and they were insanely aggressive. We were all shocked and Katrina had to ask them to leave the shop. Something she has rarely done in all her years. It is very hard to be an independent retailer these days where visitors feel entitled to be as rude as they want without any comeback. Retailers are human beings too not someone 'customers' can abuse at their will. Katrina has an exceptional reputation amongst her clientele. Let not these unwarranted and rude reviewers influence anyone. The right to give a review does not mean anyone can trash someone or an establishment they don't understand from an experience that was pretty much their own doing.
Katrina sells beautiful and unique pieces, she is passionate and knowledgeable and cares about every object and its designer, from the tiniest bowls to the largest sculptures. It's unusual to meet someone so helpful and willing to offer advice as Katrina.<3
Sales assistant deliberately unfriendly. Looked me in the eye after I smiled and said hello and didn’t smile... Why be in customer service? Totally off-putting!
I loved my experience in Katrina's store. I bought a beautiful necklace and Katrina was so interesting and we had a really good conversation
