Excellent Venue We've been there a few times great bar staff,good choice of Cider's and Beers. Really clean toilets etc even good access for disabled people toilets. The negative is there no lift up to the other music room upstairs. But we was very happy with everything else. Plus the last we went we saw Depeche mode tribute band called The Devout
It was really refreshing to find somewhere with such a laid back atmosphere in town where you can take children. We went on firework night and there were free art and craft activities that the kids loved. The food was great, huge portions, really tasty and a good price. It was vegan too. We all loved it and none of us are even vegan!!
Fabulous venue, great atmosphere and lovely staff too. We went to see Frank Turner but the venue made it special.
Good location, nice aesthetics. I didn’t enjoy the bingo, but most people did, and i can appreciate that effort has gone in to prganising it. The food was tasty, even if on the pricey side. All of the staff were very friendly and easy to approach if someone wanted help, ask a question or for a general chat.
Great use of an old Brewery factory - has lots of potential and will be great for the city of Lancaster, it is exactly what is needed in the area and hopefully will bring in some real class entertainment in the future.

I've just had food delivered from here. I had the Double Triple burger and it was amazing. I've been searching for a place that can do great burgers and I think I've found it. The meat was cooked perfectly, plenty of dripping cheese, probably took a few days off my life, but definitely worth it. My partner had the Vegetarian Explosion burger and said it was delicious too. I cant wait to try their other burgers. Oh they've got an app too, so it's super easy. Do it!

My first visit to Kanteena, July 2021, recommended by a friend. The venue itself was OK with tables some distance apart in the open air. The test and trace station near the entrance looked abandoned though. The surroundings were comfortable and relaxed. We were asked for our order before a menu had actually been given to us. The menu was then brought to us. It seemed a bit overpriced - £6 for a thinly filled quesadilla made from a single smallish wrap. The food took 1 hour 20 minutes to arrive despite the venue being fairly quiet at the time, approximately half of the tables were occupied. We also ordered triple-cooked chips which were £5. A bit pricey just for chips, but I previously heard that they are very good. The chips didn't arrive with the meal when it was served. The server then went to get them but came back a few minutes later and said chips are out of stock. This meant we only had half a meal to eat. Although we paid by credit card, the £10 refund for the two portions of chips was repaid in 50p coins. I had high hopes for this venue but unfortunately left disappointed. ... UPDATE July 2022... just had a second visit exactly one year later. The place was deserted at first. Terrible service at the bar. Stella and Carlsberg both run dry at the pumps. Barman had to go away to pour both drinks out of view. He could have been pouring any random lager, to be fair. Before finishing my transaction, the barman started serving two separate customers alongside me, then he tried to charge me for the drinks of those two unrelated people alongside me until I asked him not to. He had to go searching for ice to put in a soft drink. I asked for a can of Coke, whilst pointing at the pack of Coke cans behind the bar. For some reason he then left the bar and came back with a can of Pepsi instead. He then seemed confused when I asked can I pay by card he understood me on the 4th attempt of repeating myself. No prices were stated either verbally or down on the card reader, he just took my money. I didn't think the service could get any worse in this place, but it did. Food was tasty enough, but £5 for 4 veg spring rolls was a rip off. Downgraded from 2 stars to 1 star. See you same time next year ... maybe.
Can’t wait for summer! The outside space cannot be rivalled anywhere else in lancaster. Quirky creative vibe and if you’ve left a party here because the sound wasn’t loud enough, you will be pleased to know the soundproofing was done a few months ago and it sounds amazing! Love how much they are keen to support local initiatives in the community and will pretty much support any event day or night if requested.
