Can’t thank K motors enough. They carried out work that had supposedly been done by someone else and they made sure the job was definitely done properly. From the moment they met us they were friendly, professional and explained things clearly. My car is running beautifully and I will definitely be taking it back to K Motors for servicing and any other work needed.
I am surprising myself having to leave a bad review for these guys. They seemed genuine and honest, plus were very friendly. Not to mention they have lots of good reviews. However, in this instance, they were unfortunately awful. And it’s more due to the fact they billed me for it! Jaguar XF went in and they were told of suspected issues with the alternator/BMS, as the car would flatten the battery when running. They were even told the BMS wires were not connected at the battery terminals. Even so, they billed me for THREE HOURS!!! going through pulling fuses etc to find a battery drain which doesn’t exist - I’ve checked myself in the end and were told to leave it where it was, as the bill was nearly £260 already, with no fault found. The reception guy did say when I was paying the bill that “they weren’t auto electricians”, but they “had an idea of things to check etc”. Unfortunately, it was clear to me that they had no clue when I looked at the battery terminals and discovered they hadn’t even reconnected the BMS wires! THIS IS THE FIRST THING you would logically do - but not them. I spent half an hour taking the plug apart, soldering the wires back together, and reconnecting to the battery terminals. Hey presto! It now works fine, fault fixed.nIf they had just said from the start they didn’t know what they were doing, I would’ve just taken it somewhere else. But I feel they have been dishonest about it and billed me for the time they spent having a guess at something they know nothing about. This is not professional.nnI noticed they also sell JLR parts, so perhaps their method is just to throw new parts at a car until the problem goes away. And they might be very good at that. The average customer may not know much about cars, so would be none the wiser. But obviously this is just a wild assumption, not a fact. The facts are in the above paragraph.nnAnyway, I feel like they have totally ripped me off, so I would absolutely advise you to avoid this garage if you have a fault that isn’t immediately obvious.
I took my wife's Jaguar XE to K Motors when the timing chain started to fail on the engine. I honestly cannot praise K motors enough. Excellent price compared to other main dealer and independent Jaguar/Land Rover garages. The quality of service provided was exceptional. Great communication. After the car transporter company I used left dirty oily handprints on the interior upholstery I couldn't believe it when K Motors had gone to the efforts of cleaning the upholstery. Totally unexpected but a credit to the level of service provided by K motors. Many thanks.
Just wanted to say thank you to K Motors for a great job!.. Had my timing chains and a service on my Evoque last week and what a difference its made. The service throughout has been great and after the repair, my car drives like new.
I wish I could give them zero stars.nnI came in with my Father in Law's Evoque a few weeks back which had begun to let water in after a storm. They said they'd find out the cause and give me a ring when they knew what it was and see if I wanted to go ahead with the fix..fine so far.nnThey called me a day later to say that water was getting in through the seals on the side of the windows it's a convertible and that it'd cost around £460 to replace the seals, which included labour time to find the issue, parts, and labour time to fix the issue. Seemed a bit steep, but ok.nnThey called me up a few days later to say they'd fixed the issue..great. I paid, picked it up and brought the car home.nA few weeks of mostly sunny weather pass, then another storm hits and guess what..the car is totally flooded again. This is the day before we're due to sell the car..Nightmare.nnI try to call them but no answer, so my father in law takes the car to the garage to see what they have to say and to ask for his money back rightly so. They say there's no way he'll get his money back, and lie to his face, saying that they told me that replacing the seals may or may not work but it was worth a try. What a pack of lies.nnWhat they actually said was that they were confident that they'd found the issue, which was the side window seals, and if they replace them it'll stop the water from coming in, so I proceeded on that basis. If they told me they didn't know what the issue was in the first place and they were just guessing, then no one in their right mind would take a £460 punt. They sounded confident of the issue when I spoke to them, so that's why we went ahead, now they've tried to pass the blame on to me when when they're the supposed professionals!! What a joke. If you go to any professional garage with a problem with your car, you ask them to identify the issue and fix it for a fee...apparently this isn't K Motor's business model.nnWhilst at the garage, my Father in law used their hose to see where the water was coming in, and it was above the windscreen, so they clearly didn't check the issue properly, and once they supposedly fixed the issue, never checked that the fix had actually worked, otherwise they would've seen the actual issue instantly. I do wonder if they actually did nothing and instead just left the car in the lot for a few days and asked for the best part of £500 to basically park it there.nnShocking and unprofessional from top to bottom, and I sincerely hope this review serves to warn any potential customers away...Don't waste your money!
