Overall... great experience!nParking is hit and miss as the free street parking is usually taken by visitors to the area or hotels. That said, there are two car parks on either side of the 'strip' you can use. The building itself was built in the 1930s so don't expect it to be a super modern state of the art experience. Though it is clean and tidy and gives that authentic old school British feel! There are changing rooms poolside, and depending on how busy it is you can use as a sort of locker for all of your belongings. If not they have to be kept poolside until your session is over. We tried the geothermal pool which is lovely and warm and offers the unique experience of swimming in warm seawater on a typical wet and cold English day! The sessions last an hour, which to be fair, is the right amount of time..the staff were friendly and helpful. Naturally, everything in the gift shop was over priced but we still got a nice magnet for 4 pound :. I would definitely recommend it for something to do for an hour or so. This activity mixed with the nearby shops, arcades and chippy equals a nice little day out!
We visited Jubilee pool on Tue 8 Apr, during the Easter school holidays. Now we knew the main pool was cold water and our boys7 and 4 but strong swimmers would not want to swim in that, so we booked the GeoThermal pool. It was lovely and warm, but at £50 for the 4 of us, it was a bit steep.nnThe boys got bored quite quickly, and unfortunately, there is little else for them to do. Showers were cold, which was a shock for the boys but overall it needs a little investment & upkeep to ake it truly 'family friendly'. I would totally recommend in the height of summer or with older kids, though!
Didn't go in the pool as it was being worked on. Did sit outside at the café and it was very pleasant. Food was nice and the service was prompt. There is a gap of about 30 mins between breakfast and lunch.nI had the fish as the brisket burger was unavailable. It was nice and fresh.nThe side order of chips were also nice.nI had a local alcohol free can of beer.
Went here on an August mid-week in the morning. It was very cold. Booked ahead about £8 each for the main pool. It is sea water so the same temp as the sea. In hindsight, I wish we had booked for the geothermal pool - this costs around £16 per person and includes access to the standard pool to. It is around 27-30 degrees so a lot more comfortable. We enjoyed our experience but feel it could do with a bit of better signage and modernisation. It wasn't clear we had to go into the shop to check in. Changing rooms and toilet and shower on site. Also a cafe which was quite dear but had a nice hot chocolate to warm up after the coldness of the water. Overall would recommend but advise to go on a warm day or in the geothermal pool.
One of the oldest surviving Art Deco swimming baths in the country, built during Penzance's heyday as a fashionable seaside resort. The grade II listed pool is triangular with graceful curves and is considered the best surviving example of its type, with the exception of the Saltdean Lido in Brighton. In early 2018 work began to add a geothermal section to the pool, becoming the first of its kind in the United Kingdom to use this type of technology.
