Probably one of the worst lunches we've ever eaten. Disinterested staff. Ran out of lime for drinks. Burger no flavour in dry bun No salad just small Coleslaw Chicken burger unidentifiable as chicken, no flavour. Had to prompt staff to clear first course and bring second. Apple crumble was a limp pre made tart no flavour again. Chips were OK if that's any consolation.
I'm within the top ten people who review places like this on Google. And I have to say this is the worst place I've ever been for customer service. We walked in and was met by a young girl who gave us a menu and told us to find a seat and that there was no table service. So we found a table. The pub/restaurant orwhat ever you wish to call these places now days. Has a very plane decore. Boring is properly the best word. A little like a hospital but in gray. Anyway my partner went up to the bar to order food. She ask the same girl who gave us our menus if we could change the salad to peas with our steak. She was told no and then to go and ask the manager. Who was sat at the bar with with nothing on feet and apeard to be intoxicated. Anyway we got the peas with our steak in the end. Whole set at our table two other girls that worked behind the bar was back and thourth to the toilet every two mins giving us right moody looks. For what reason we are clueless. Anyhow the food come out. I had the cook it yourself steak. Which come out very well presented and my partner had the mix grill. We then had to get up and get our own knives and forks. And any saurces we wanted. The cook it yourself streak was very nice, however my partners was dry and over cooked and the Sausage was chip pan fried. My partner complained and I think they was going to offer something but I said to my partner I wanted to leave as I didn't feel welcome. As we left we was followed out and watch from the door as I sst in the car sorting out my sat nav.. We was not sure if this was a family run place or private. I strongly beleave if this place was of the main road it simply wouldn't survive. I drive past hear a few times a week and I simply will NEVER come in again
Booked a finger buffet for after my mums memorial service. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the buffet was excellent, such a variety, and so tasty. Also provided gluten free food. It couldn't have been better. Thank you chef.
I really wanted to go here as hadn't been for years...wish hadn't bothered. The 5 staff at bar didn't approach us...we had to wait for attention. We were shown to a table, and just left with no explanation of their system. I ordered our food at the bar, which was not cheap, and returned to seat. Didn't wait too long. The spare ribs were happily eaten by my grandson and his rustic fries were nice. My chunky chips were hot because loaded with oil and tasteless. Fish looked massive but was again full of oil and not much fish. all batter. Had to keep getting up for condiments. No actual service. Disinterested staff. Plates still on table as we left. Reminded me of a youth club. Cold and uninviting. Will never return again. Not when there is the Bramley Cottage or Barley Mow. Warm & cosy.
Lovely food, staff friendly. Love sitting in the booths. But this time we were by the bar & door, so a bit drafty, & quite noisy as people were stood round the bar. I will be back, but in a different booth .
...much better than I expected!!! Appetising well presented and tasty food, nice surroundings!!! - 1 star = please wipe the tables a little more frequently rather than standing chatting...
I had a lovely lunch. I met up with some old friends. Good service. Great food Nicely decorated.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The only problem was the place itself was too basic. Grey walls , floor, seating. Too drab. It needs cheering up.
Sharing platter lovely n hot and fresh! Not too busy, looking forward to the garden reopening soon
Haven't been to the jubilee in years.. I ordered the pork and blackpudding stack, with peppercorn sauce and root vegetables, and my wife had hunters chicken, side orders of garlic bread and breaded mushrooms, all perfectly portioned and cooked to perfection, excellent service happy to come here again..thankyou to all the team..
