Jones Fish Bar THE BEST CHIPS IN NEWPORT  Absolutely unbelievable fish and chips ! I have never tasted fish and chips as delicious as these.  The chips : Extremely crunchy, light and fluffy, much more like roast potatoes. In fact they should just change the name to Roast Potato Chips. Apparently the secret is they’re cooked in dripping.  The Fish: Gorgeous piece of Haddock, very moist, fresh, and cooked in a light delicious batter. Cooked fresh when ordered, we waited for it just under ten minutes.  Curry Sauce: The curry sauce was perfect, absolutely delicious. We finished it and I wished we’d bought two. Only £1.50 for each large pot of sauce too. There’s a choice of three different curry sauces, we bought chip shop curry sauce.  SENSATIONAL! I’ll definitely shop here again, soon !!

Best quality fish and chips I've had in Newport, The chips remind me of roast potatoes! Freshly cooked fish to order while you wait, not long at all. Irish Curry sauce is banging! Always satisfied with a good meal from this place after busy day at work.  Lovely taste and good price and portions, highly recommend.  Kid-friendliness: Staff always happy and welcoming towards children  Parking: Parking available  Wheelchair accessibility: Spacious entrance and indoor queuing area.

First time trying after all good reviews heard and drove in from Magor to try it out. Good service and parking. Fish itself was nice and plenty of it but the batter was not crispy. My wife had a meat and gravy pie which she said was nice also. We were both in agreement that the chips were certainly not great, dry and didn't appear freshly cooked. Disappointed after reading all the good reviews.

I am a little disappointed with this place. Used to love the nice chips and chicken 'n' mushroom pies. Though with them getting so popular, I think the quality has sadly dropped.  The chips we had tonight where soggy and the pie was just tough pastry. I really hope these guys can pull back the quality! As they where my favourite chippy in Newport.  Even the chinese curry sauce, which was one of their iconic sauces has become flavourless.  Sorry to the owners if they read this, but I really love you guys. Just please bring back the quality.

Best chips I've ever had...ever. perfectly cooked, open the bag not a bit of grease on the paper, not sure how they do that. All ny family commented on how good they are. Staff all working flat out, polite and friendly with a big queue which says a lot.

The best fish and chips shop I've been to in Newport. The fish and chips are cooked in good old-fashioned beef dripping and taste wonderful. Highly recommended  Parking: Plenty of space for approximately 15 cars  Wheelchair accessibility: No steps and entrance wide enough for access

Tried for the first time the other night. Fish and chips were beautiful, fresh and tasty. Will be returning soon best fish and chips I've had in years. TyFood: 5/5

Visited for a bag a chips. Ordered a small portion which was £1.95. Compared to other chippies I have been too as far as Swansea this is by far the smallest portion for the price. The quality was below average and the chips had a funny taste due to what they were cooked in. Also the visible quality was poor. Not stopping there again.

Great fish and chips, cooked in beef dripping the old fashion way , great service ,great price, best place in Newport.
