I've visited John Dory's twice now and the food is lovely! It's my boyfriend's favourite chippy around and now it's been taken over by new ownership they offer gluten free!nWhich is so good that they cater for now as usually I'd miss out and have to eat elsewhere. They can do cod, jumbo sausages, chicken breast and a few other options too. The battered jumbo sausage was lovely and it's fried in with the chips so it's all gluten free. Well informed staff who take care to avoid cross contamination. And went and checked to see if the vinegar is gluten free, which it is! Thank you John dory's!
Brilliant service food atmosphere and customer service. A very wide range of chippy food menu. This is now my go to chip shop when we're down this end. Been here twice in 2 daysn10 out of 10nSee you again
Undoubtedly the smallest piece of fish I’ve ever received anywhere, would be better described as fish finger and chips rather than fish and chips. What was there tasted good but not somewhere to go if you like a generous portion!
I’ve not been this way for a while but couldn’t resist going in. The 2 ladies were very busy cooking and serving. The lady serving was great she double wrapped my fish and chips without my asking. I got home to discover a lovely piece of cod sat on some yummy chips. I will be back soon.
One evening this week I popped in for some fish and chips. The food was not to bad could of been cooked a little bit better, due to the number of people ordering the chips were a little on the greasy side. All this to one side I would buy from again.nnThe reason for the one star is because of the way that one member of staff was talking to the young lad that works in there, it was obvious that he was nervous around her which was making him feel uncomfortable. I was shocked to hear her say in front of a packed place comments like are you that stupid, are you incapable of working this, can you not understand simply instructions, ect ect.nnIf this person is only the manager then I would recommend that the owner sends her on a customer service and staff course, if this person is the owner may be employing people and working with them is not for her, I would recommend that she works on her own.
