Wonderful place to visit with ample free parking. A small, reasonable charge for entrance €9 per adult The sun shone, the gardens were exceptional. The walkways in great order. Suitable for all age groups and wheelchair users and beautifully maintained grounds. Lots of space to picnic. A fabulous lake with wildfowl and stunning peacocks. And, when weary from walking, an amazing large cafe with many gluten free cakes. Definitely worth a visit.
Best place for a family day out. Beautiful and friendly peacocks, that you can feed out of your hand, a lovely castle, a fun playground and lovely food too. There was also a very interesting and cool museum which we really enjoyed! We are gonna return here for sure next time we are back in Wexford! We actually came on a car show day so we got to see many beautiful cars
One of the most beautiful and amazing places I've been to in Ireland. Would highly recommend a visit. Suitable for all age groups. Hopefully I'll get back again to see more of this magical place. Loved every minute of my trip there. Thank you for looking after our heritage.
Johnstown Castle is a great place for a refreshing walk. Very easy to get your steps in without feeling it. I really enjoyed the walk. Also, the nature photographs really well. You can sit at the cafe after the walk to enjoy some coffee and treat yourself to a nicely deserved dessert.
We love coming here with our dog. The scenic view of the castle and its grounds are astounding. The cafe is great and dog friendly too. On a sunny day you should really get the best experience.
Fabulous spot. Absolutely stunning grounds and the people are so lovely & friendly. We did the castle tour which was fascinating and we went for a walk in the grounds. Lots of lakes and little baby ducklings. Very sweet.
Castel tours where sold out when we arrived but we went to the museums and walked around the grounds. Good few hours spent between the exhibitions. Agriculture and famine exhibitions were great lots to see and learn. Wouldn't be super interesting for kids under 10 with lots to read but there are a lot of machines and things to see also.
My second time visiting and I love it here. The grounds are so beautiful and well kept and lots of gorgeous plants and trees. The best part is the guided tour which I love. I think the work of the volunteers is amazing and they are always so friendly. Our tour guide was Ciarán this time and he was so knowledgeable about the history of the house and the people who lived there. He also kindly told me to feel free to translate to my mother through the tour. She does not speak English but still got to enjoy and learn. I was very grateful for that. It's a beautiful place to visit when in Wexford.
Beautiful spot to walk and take the family for a picnic. The museum is well planned and cared for. Lovely cafe to enjoy amazing coffee at.
Excellent tour - couldn't have hoped for a better guide. Highly recommend. The grounds are beautiful and the walks are well signposted. Lovely bright and clean cafe.
