Our brake lights stopped working while we were on holiday in Kirkby Stephen. We went into Johnstone's and they fit us in to change the bulbs there and then, the two lads that changed them were great and the cost was super reasonable. Everyone was very helpful, would recommend this garage highly.
A big ‘shout-out’ thank you to Johnstone’s Garage. We were on our return journey to Upper Teesdale yesterday when we had a ‘flat tyre’ problem – a split valve. Brad was very quick to replace the valve for us and ensure our safe onward journey without the hassle of us changing the tyre and getting a repair done later. Support your local garage
Wonderful helpful service from both the receptionist and mechanic after we suffered a blow out on the way into Kirkby Stephen. Replaced the tyre for us in half an hour, and charged a very reasonable price. Would recommend.
Brilliant service, I had a small issue with my van, on my travels, Hazel at reception was very welcoming, went and spoke to a mechanic for me and had the problem sorted within 5 minutes of walking in. Couldn't recommend enough, if I'm ever in the area again I'd be sure to be back. Thanks a lot guys.
On our journey back to our holiday home we heard a knocking noise from the underside of the car. We called into Johnson's on spec to see if there was any chance of a repair in the next few days. Waited a few minutes in the reception area, whilst the service advisor checked with the workshop. On her return she advised me that they would have a quick look to find out the problem. Johnny, the workshop controller, established it needed a new shock absorber, which they fitted during the afternoon of the next day. All done in under an hour! This was brilliant service from a friendly and knowledgeable team, which I would highly recommend.
Last week we were on holiday near Kirkby Stephen. Upon leaving our accommodation we noticed we had a flat tire. Johnstone's was the nearest garage to us. They were able to fit us in almost straight away and replaced the tire it had a nail in it within 30 mins exactly the time they said it would take. Can't thank them enough for their friendly staff and excellent service. This meant that we were able to carry on our holiday with minimal disruption and cost.

Called into this garage Fri 1st Oct on spec asked a really good guy called Johnny if he could check exhaust shield as it maybe loose, 5 mins later all sorted, can't thank this garage enough. Thanks Roz and Chris Mcguinness
Had a tyre deflation warning on A66 at Brough. Car felt fine but needed a check. Tried the Shell garage, no airline, then popped to Johnstones. Their airline in the workshops. Spoke to an older gentleman, very nice man, told me to pop car into workshops, checked the tyre, just a spurious warning, all was fine. Felt very 'Old School' when chatting, willing to help even when busy, What a very nice man and easy experience. Reputation is everything, never met the guy or used the garage before. Thank you, you were a gentkeman
