This John Lewis has five floors of quality products ranging from clothes to carpets. Their home section is particularly impressive with a large selection of beds and mattresses. Staff are on hand to provide services such as upholstery and design consultations, and you're able to try the mattresses in store, with appropriate covid things in place. Altogether it's a great store. They have lots of sale items in store too.
The store itself is lovely as per. Car park is worth a mention too - lovely wide spaces! Only 3 stars because the 'cafe' is very poor. Limited menu with some stuff unavailable. Husband's ready-made ham & cheese baguette was almost inedible it was so hard. Chips undercooked and hard. Tables not cleared. And our food took a long time to arrive. Daughter's vegan curry was apparently nice though.
This used to be my favourite place to shop until recently. I’ve had two bad experiences with a member of staff in the perfume section. Which is a shame as John Lewis is my favourite department store. And I love to see the items in person before I buy, but it seems I’m going to have to stick to online.
This is the place to go when you're in Leeds and have a bit of extra cash. Fantastic at Christmas. Oodles of variety, from different brands of clothing, to living room furniture, to food etc. Bit pricey as expected, but I am sure they often do sales and reductions etc. The only negative aspect of such a place is that it's constantly busy so you won't really ever find a nice quiet day to just browse in peace & quiet, but then what do you expect in a city centre shopping complex. There are many levels, so you need to catch the lift sometimes. Plenty of parking too. Lots of staff around to ask questions if you need to.
The pineapple upside down cake that they serve in the cafe is really nice. They have a selection of vegetarian wraps that look really nice but they are placed in the display unit next to meat products so I have never tried them. This may be problematic as it is for me if you don't eat meat at John Lewis for religious reasons and maybe for some vegetarians and vegans too.
Beautiful store and very helpful staff. Managed to find just what we wanted for a wedding gift and, at last, found myself an olive oil & balsamic vinegar pouring set! A snip at £10!!
Nice branch but The Place to eat cafe is is desperate!! Too small, 4 visible hard working staff, LONG queue at 3.30pm for coffee!!!15 min wait! no plates available as dishwasher broken, no glasses - paper cups only., seating poor and basic. Even Nottingham does better than this!!!!
I visited the store today and ended up having an impromptu facial at Elemis. It was a lovely experience. My therapist was Jo and she was so helpful. The treatment was so relaxing and Jo was very attentive. Great Value for money at £30 for a pregnancy facial. Would definateky recommend a trip.
John Lewis is a touch of shopping Hollywood-style Well - you know what I mean!. It’s set in the beautiful Victoria Gate shopping centre with its amazing architecture. Just walking around the store with its incredible range of TVs and technology, stylish ideas for the home and seasonal specialities such as beautiful Christmas decorations, is enough to cheer you up on the greyest of days. When you walk in you’re getting a store which doesn’t allow tat. It’s a bit like having a curated shopping experience, with a store full of quality, sometimes quirky but always stylish products. I like the fact I’m shopping in a store which treats its staff well, with all staff being shareholders in the company. And the staff are lovely, always willing to have a chat. And these people will go out of their way to put something right if something is wrong with a purchase. They are always willing to chat and give detailed information about products. And I am one of these people who have to research purchases throughly! Today I enjoyed free coffee and carrot cake Delicious, but the way. This was a reward given to me in the JL app. Again, lovely staff in the café who spoke to us and were helpful and friendly. Thanks John Lewis staff in Leeds! You’re a shining example of how all retailers should operate.
Recently moved to Leeds area soo looking forward to visiting John Lewis. Unfortunately disappointed. DH and I are in our late 50's where we would fit into a certain demographic which clearly you failed to hit. Our visit was made to feel anything but special on our Christmas Shopping trip. Although Monday found it extremely quiet even though it was the second week of November, appreciate you attract a lot of online sales however, cannot see us returning. Visited the Charlotte Tilberry display and could NOT find any pricing on the display or even a handheld leaflet. I like to know what I buy and how much I am paying for items regardless of their price bracket or how much customers can afford. When asked the Assistant appeared shocked and taken aback that I would even deign to ask. After explaining I am 'old school' I decided to visit the much more likeable and extremely helpful NARS Assistant where after chatting I ended up buying quite a lot of products. Her gain. We then went upstairs, being newly grandparents we enjoy spoiling. We came away with nothing. Happened to visit the Designer section for Babywear. Where my every movement was mirrored by your Sales Assistant. I was not their to Steal but Buy. She really ticked me off. I also noticed that the clothing on the racks was messy unkempt and not in an organised Age Range. Hardly what I would have expected for the area. Better training is seriously needed. And before you ask I have past Retail and Law and Order expertise. Managers please consider who you are alienating it is the very shoppers you really should be attracting. As my DH said we will keep to the Outlets who really work on their Customer Service.
