Joey's Bar

About

Joeys Bar is a warm friendly pub in Ballymoney run by the family of the late Joey Dunlop.

Story

Joeys Bar is understandably a motorcycle racing themed bar that has been run by the Dunlops since 1984. The bar has always been a shrine to racing fans from all over the world and even since the untimely death of Joey in 2000, it still pulls the biking fans to this day. The bar has a large amount of photos and memorabilia on display along with two of Joeys bikes, one being the famous Honda RC45 that hangs from the ceiling in the front bar and the other in the more recent display cabinet in our lounge. We also cater for other sports and show most football matches every weekend without fail.

It was a great experience with a nice history of Joey's career showcased throughout the bar and lounge. We had our photos taken next to the two bikes on display. Definitely worth a visit.
Meca for motorcycle rider..brilliant and a short walk from the Dunlop memorial gardens that are absolutely beautiful.
A great little pub for any bike fan. Loads of Dunlop memorabilia around the bar in Ballymoney including some of Joeys bikes and only a short walk from the memorial garden for Joey and his brother Robert. Great people, popped in for a pint of Guinness after the NW200.
If you're into motorbikes, you've got to put this place on your bucket list. Lovely tribute to a legend in his own right.
As a keen motorcyclist and having followed Joey Dunlop since I saw him at the TT races back at the end of the 70's, there is no way I could go to Northern Ireland on my holidays and not visit Joeys Bar!! It has the best tasting Guinness we found in Northern Ireland... honest!??!nnIf you are a keen motorcycle race fan or just admire bikes this little place, next door to the railway station, is a must for you to go and see! Lots of pictures, facts and figures and one of Joeys bikes for you to drool over!nnWe met a customer outside who mentioned to us that the bar is run by Joeys wife and daughter... if it was the ladies inside when we went in they were really nice and friendly.nnA few hundred yards away there is a memorial garden for both Joey and his brother, Robert, with a list of the races they both won. Joeys list is amazing!nnSuggest you visit the memorial first as you may not be capable once you head for that bar!nnCarefulnottight.co.uk
