Many years ago I "signed on" after being made redundant but wasn't working long enough for redundancy Very hostile, unhelpful and kept giving jobs I didn't have much interest or knowledge in. Constantly trying to get you to do apprenticeships or voluntary work just to get you off the unemployment stats, and less interested in getting you a suitable job... Ended up finding my own job after only a week and half with them, and even though I didn't get paid, had a letter saying I owed them £82 for expenses???! Never used them since, even when unemployed, just because I do way better on my own than they do at their job!
I've been with this center not only for income support but job seekers too. My associate, Fay, is the most wonderfully understanding person who has helped me massively throughout my time on state benefits. The place is quiet and the staff are all polite and helpful, especially the security guard whom my daughter loves. Of all the places I've had to go to for state benefits, this is by far the best.
I recently had to go and sign on, though I have since found a job. The staff seem friendly and helpful enough but the computers that have been provided, for doing job searches on, are painfully slow and desperately need to be updated. Better to use the ones in Heanor library.
All I can say it has been fantastic. thank u so much to Michelle who has been brilliant and understanding got no complaints to be honest with this job centre
Worst jobcentre around hostile staff that don't want to do there job and couldn't care less about the people there supposed to be supporting
communication is very poor here. The Managers do not communicate with work coaches
Friendly staff and co-operative.
