These builder’s plastered my cat into a wall. And before I found this out they had already done half a job as it was. Yesterday these builder’s came round to knock out a mantle piece that was glue to a wall and plaster over a hole in the wall. They left the wall with huge hole and gaps in it and the plaster wasn’t flush with the existing wall (photo attached, the muddy footprints on the carpet are theirs). We had to go out and buy the materials to re-plaster the walls ourselves. They also didn’t have any sandpaper to sand down the wall so we had to buy the sand paper and do this ourselves, even the whole point of paying for builder’s was so that we didn’t have to do this (what builder doesn’t have sandpaper?). Later that night we heard our cat meowing and realised that the builders had trapped the cat in the wall and plastered the wall shut. We had no tools to open the wall and get the cat out so had to remove the bath tub upstairs to try and get the cat out that way. This didn’t works so we instead persevered with using a Stanley blade to cut away at the wall. We got the cat out. But before this we called 101 and the rspcsa who advised to ask for the builders help. Which we did. We rang him, he didn’t care, was unempathetic – not his problem, offered no help then or to help repair the hole we had to make because of their error. He said he didn’t know anyone else who would help either. Not only that but he tried to convince me that cat wasn’t in the wall. They did a shoddy job in the first place and then refuse to help when they’ve done something wrong. AVOID.
