Sent my 5 year old Diawa Saltist HC20 to Jim for repair, it was in a sorry state after all those years on my boat, I could not believe it was the same reel when it was returned, it looks brand new. Brilliant, professional service. Thank you.
I Ordered a spare part for a PENN reel I picked up at a Boat Jumble sale. The part I required was easy to find in the on line inventory. The ordering & paying process was straight forward, & the part arrived 3 days later. What can be wrong with that? I called Jims Reel shop with an unrelated query & found the person that answered very polite, understanding & helpful. They will definitely be my first port of call next time. Thank you
I bought a small plastic cap for a Shimano TLD Star 15/30. £4.99 + £4 postage. Thought postage was a bit high considering the cap is much smaller than a 5p piece but went with it anyway. Later I discovered an email saying that my money had been returned and I should contact the vendor for an explanation, which I did directly. I got no reply from Jims Reels? Still haven't to this day? On returning to Jims Reel Shop website I was surprised to now see this cap was a whopping £7.99 and available to purchase immediately? I did buy it and it arrived a couple of days later confirming my suspicion that it was in stock the whole time and the whole sorry saga was simply because Jims reel shop wanted more money. £11.99 to be precise. For the small plastic cap pictured. I do NOT recommend Jims reel shop and, if there was a way to give no stars at all, thats what they would have got. Please don't just take my word for it. Read the other reviews. I wish I had P.S. Just to follow up on the completly fabricated and untrue response from Jims Reel Shop... 1 There was no conversation about sourcing a more expensive part. As I said before, they just ignored my email asking what was going on. This all happend on the very same day, within a matter of hours. It must have been in stock as it was sent out the day my money was returned and immediately reordered at double the price. 2 'The customer was happy' ?? How could Jims Reel Shop possibly know how I was feeling? I have never had any contact with any member of staff in any way? No email, no phone call, no correspondence in any way?? For Jims Reel Shops information, this customer is far from happy. Please AVOID Jims Reel Shop. They obviously don't care about the customer.. just the money. ******** Another update regarding Jims Reels response to my feedback. a Jims Reels.. please read my review before posting a generic response. You will clearly see then what my gripe was and it certainly wasn't the postage. b Why the weird comment about standing next to someone elses boat? I can assure you not that it should be any business of yours that I am displaying a picture of my very own boat. Nothing special but a Wilson Flyer 17ft. I can only assume that your remarks regarding the boat are nothing more than a childish dig. Please grow up and check your facts before making more of a fool of yourself. I see that customer service is bottom of your list of business acumen. Ratings are constantly going down. Someone at Jims reel shop needs to buck their ideas up or the whole outfit will be dragged down with them.
Absolutely excellent service from start to finish. I have a diawa 125m that needed a new rotor and service, parts delivery was excellent and then servicing and further part fitting was superb. The reel is back in use and running like a Swiss watch. Thank you Jim. Highly recommended.
I ordered a handle cap for a shimano reel. Postage was crazy so I added other items to save me from going into town. I received a partial refund so I contacted the Shop by email to verify what it was for. I got a quick response to be fair, but the owner stated that the part was unavailable and that the remaining items had been dispatched earlier that morning. I replied and stated that this was the sole reason for the order and that online sellers would normally contact the buyer in such a circumstance. That was the end of the email chain. The items where well packaged. The website needs updating and the inventory list updated. Seller needs to take this on the chin and advise customers of availability before dispatch. ****update****. I'm not telepathic. I didn't know you sourced it after me asking, I got no response 11 days ago. My review stands. It's positive criticism. Your response is disappointing to say the least. Your offer is after the fact and its insulting and childish. Maybe you should reflect on this and accept that you need to follow up with the customer and accept that it's an honest review. In future in responding to reviews you could start with I'm sorry or my apologies for your bad experience. Life's too short.
Order placed and paid for for a spare reel handle. Shipping date came and went. Tracked order was apparently signed for but cctv of reception proved their was no delivery. Contacted Jim via texts and emails trying to see what had happened. Responses rapidly became terse and then stopped until I mentioned Google reviews, then replies rapidly became loud and abusive. Eventually he calmed down long enough to promise sending out another handle and I sent him an email proving cctv non delivery to allow him to claim from royal mail. 2nd reel handle never showed up and all further comms have been ignored. It's not losing my money that is frustrating, but the disregard for customers and making me miss one rod on a trip out. Had to write this review as a warning to other people who might rely on spares for trips - don't buy from here.
Great service and quick delivery, have told friends about him. Needed a part for one of my four daiwa basia sld's found here after i had been getting in contact with daiwa for the part and had no communication from them about it! Will definitely be using jims reel shop from now on for all my parts
Great knowledge and a great guy. Needed bail arm parts for my Shimano reel. We chatted on the phone about the parts. Jim ordered them in and they were with me within a few days. Great service. Thanks very much.
Okay apart from 'profiteering' postage costs. Charged £4 when the stamps and envelope used would have been no more than £1.25. According to Google the post office is 0.9 mile away so not much 'expense' there. Would have expected signed for/tracked postage for that amount but no.. standard 2nd class. Tried to contact - no reply. I never over charge on postage with my business. Sad. ETA - Not sure what the hell the reply is about I've never had a business go bust haha.. can't justify postage costs or address customers issues so makes stuff up... Quality.
Terrible customers service. Ordered a driveshaft for a Sl20sh, I installed correctly and took my reel fishing. I wound in to a snag and started to walk back to free my gear when the reel popped, and spun the other way. Upon inspection the driveshaft bent which caused the anti reverse gear to lift and not catch. I informed Jim’s of this and all I had back was ‘how did you damage the driveshaft so badly’ after explaining what I have just wrote I have had no reply. I will never use this company again and would encourage everyone else not use them either.
