Stunning arcade with a fascinating history. The JG Widows shop is quite famous too as some well known musicians have been its customers including Sting.

Absolutely excellent service from beginning to end. I bought a Casio AP550 today and all the staff were friendly and helpful. They gave me a hand loading the piano into my car and gave me good directions for where best to park. 5 stars, will definitely return whenever I'm in Newcastle again.

Spoke to george today, and he set me completely at ease, I was a bit anxious before going, but he took me through the whole process of trying out some guitars i had my eye on as present to myself for when uni results come in. I put a down-payment on one i really enjoyed and will be back on tuesday coming to pick it up. Fully recommend this shop to anyone

Ordered a replacement stylus for my 1970's turntable. The price was better here than anywhere else and it arrived within two days in perfect condition. I'm a very happy customer.

I had heard great things about this shop and so whilst we were in Newcastle this afternoon we decided to nip in as we’ve been planning to buy a new piano for my son for a while.  He was really excited about trying a few out and when he went in he asked ‘Can you play the pianos’. The chap on duty simply said ‘No, they are not for playing.’  What he of course meant was, is he allowed to try them out but he was excited and he’s 10 so didn’t quite ask correctly.  I was so annoyed about how he was dismissed that we didn’t even bother enquiring about different options. We weren’t looking to spend a fortune in piano terms, only £4-5Kbut I would have thought the salesman would have been at least interested in finding out what we were there to buy.  I wish high street retail wasn’t in the sorry state it’s in as we will all miss it when it’s gone. But when you get service like this, it illustrates why it’s struggling as it is. Poor show.

Went to this shop looking to buy an upper end acoustic guitar with a budget of around the 2k mark and liked the look of one of the martins stood there for about ten mins but the guy just sat behind the counter messing with his phone and couldn't be bothered to come and talk to us so we went elsewhere and got one.

Love this place. Staff are always very friendly and happy to answer questions about the products and talk about music in general. They do a cracking job of restring guitars and are all nice lads. Shout out to George.

One of the finest music shops in the country with friendly helpful staff always on hand .
