This is a good old fashioned British bakers tea room with a few extras on the menu. The Staff are very polite and friendly, they make you feel wanted which is very nice in these days when everyone just wants your money. I will definitely be returning.

Please note that my comments are about the Jempson's Bed & Breakfast more than the Cafe. The continental breakfast is excellent and can be taken in the bedroom if needed. The entrance decor is poor and that of the room only fair-it is not a conventional B&B- an attempt to make use of otherwise wasted space so some quirky original features. The rooms are spacious and toasty hot,as is the water. All the Cafe ladies are pleasant and helpful. The accomodation is not perfect but then one uses the room mainly for sleeping- overall excellent value as the rates are 'budget'. I'll definitely stay there next time I'm in Battle.
