Superb service from this wonderful outlet! Changed my pendix bottom bracket while I waited and fitted me at very short notice. Friendly professional owners John and Ruth doing a great job, everything tandem is here.
I've waited until we'd had a few day's riding our new tandem before leaving a review. JD Tandems are a pleasure to deal with, absolutely brilliant customer service. The bike is beautifully put together with exceptional attention to detail such as every new bolt greased and stem cap lettering perfectly centred. Even better I'm hearing reassuring stories from other tandem riders of great aftersales service, so I say purchase with confidence. I've no association, other than being a happy customer.
I was in dire need of a replacement set of forks when I called JD Tandems. They pulled out all the stops to ensure they were dispatched to arrive the very next day. Really friendly service too.
If you're into tandems, JD Tandems is the bees knees - a highly efficient, service driven business run by enthusiasts and tucked away in Gargrave. We've dealt with them for over 10 years and visited again today to try out their e-tandems. I'm now 75 and Jo, my French wife is 8 years younger so we're both starting to find steep hills a trial. The cunning plan was to see if moving onto electric assistance would allow us a few more years, as we still love our cycling. JD lent us two Tandems to try out over the day, which turned out to be a revelation - hills easy again, even around Malham area! So making the change was a no brainer. A new e-Orbit tandem will be ready in September, part ex'd with our old JD bike. Our thanks to James for his excellent advice and kind, friendly assistance. JD Tandems are genuine 5 star - highly recommended! Pics - the Boss on top of the fells after a goodly climb - easy stuff with the e-bike!
The place to go for Tandems and spares, we visited recently to collect some parts and were brilliantly looked after by Ruth and Jamie, all our questions answered and lots of time given. Great showroom,great staff, the location isn't bad either. We will be back ,great customer service is all well at JD Tandems.
Previous tandem bought from JDs 23 years ago. Always good support and help when needed. Made appointment to try new eTandem and Jamie and the team as helpful and informative as ever. They are all so knowledgeable and great to chat through ideas and options. Nothing is too much trouble from suggesting good routes and GPX files, to ensuring the bike is setup correctly for the demo ride. They take the time to ensure your order is right for you, and I look forward to another 23 years of tandeming with JDs support.

Excellent service from John at JD Tandems today. Issues with our Moustache Tandem freewheel was causing us lots of worries and we were about to go cycling in France. John was good enough to go in on his day off and quickly sorted everything out for us. Happy holidays now. Thank you John
Many thanks for your very prompt and understanding response! I have adjusted the star rating accordingly, this company really understands what customer service is! And yes, happy to agree that Brexit is a shame that never should have happened... For those who might think this is all too good to be true I keep my original 3-star review intact below and I do not revoke a word about UPS: Unfortunately this is the exception to the 5-star review rule here... Let me stipulate first that there is nothing wrong with the quality of the product that I ordered online, nor with the service and communication prior to shipment of the order. That would definitely be another 5-star experience. BUT 1 star deduction for missing / misleading price information: on top of a total cost of €137 for mid-rise stoker stem and shim, quite expensive, but the best option online I had to pay to UPS a whopping €37,02 27% for customs and handling, which at least would justify an explicit warning - and preferably upfront payment of taxes to save me €16,70 12% handling costs. €174 for just this part is not a realistic price. 1 additional star deduction could easily argue 2 for the way UPS further screwed my customer experience. Normally, if I have choice, shipping by UPS is a reason to not even consider ordering - as UPS' operating standard seems to be "whatever our competitors do, we can do worse" website, app, communication, delayed delivery already slow without delay, American legal stuff, etc., but in this case I had no viable alternative. As I am a customer of JD Tandems and not of UPS that you chose for me, please do not underestimate how the shipper can neutralise the experience of your customer!
THE SINGLE BEST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD.. All things tandem explained, tandem lesson, tandem test ride, tandem choice, tandem purchase. No pressure, friendly service, proper coffee, cute little dog, 2.5 hours. Smashing. The Tandem its self has been fantastic, during the 18 months we have had it. We have ridden regularilly and its taken us on some special adventures. Isle of Arran, Isle of Skye, Dolomites including Passo Giau 2,236 mtrs. No problems whatsoever with it and it has brought my partner and I together. Clive and Debbie Holmfirth Additional Note - After sales service 10 year guarantee on frame fully honoured. After 8+years of regular use our frame developed a small issue and was replaced without quibble. This was done in the usual friendly way we have always experienced when in contact with JD Tandems. Top shop.
