JD lane and son's built our house in Mansfield Nottinghamshire 10 years ago and the job was swiftly and beautifully done by the team ( Peter, Philip and Mathew). Since then we have used them for various projects in London and at our business premises - a GP surgery in Kirkby in Ashfield. They are trustworthy and have a good team of people working for them and their work is of very good quality and prices are competitive. We are currently planning a conservatory at our house and they have been given the job again. We have no hesitation in recommending the firm. Dr Prabu and Mrs Prabu Mansfield Nottinghamshire.

I've contracted these guys in for several renovation projects now and have to say their work is first class. On time, to the schedule, no accidents and on budget.

We've been travelling to Invergordon (Rosshire) lately to see family, and, this time around, checked into 'The Ship Inn' - an awesome small boutique place with nine bedrooms. First up the service and environment there are fantastic, and the food amongst the best we've enjoyed in Scotland. Talking to the owner and quizzing her about the beautiful restoration of her hotel it turns out the refurb' was done by her brother, proprietor at J D Lane and Sons. As TV designers (past shows include BBC's 'Million Pound Property Experiment' and 'How Not To Decorate' on Ch 5), we see lots of top quality refurbishments but The Ship Inn has been done with respect to the building's original character and with a nod to the future. The mix of carpentry, exposed stonework and beautiful lumber floors suffuse the hotel with so much atmosphere. As detail freaks, we spent ages appraising the hotel - and the workmanship - and have to comment that it's pretty much faultless. Standards like these are refreshing - it's great to see a place restored in the modern idiom. We would definitely consider using J D Lane for one of our own projects! Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan
