JD used to be a great gym, but this one seems to be quite dirty, equipment often broken and for some reason, bad habits from people in a full swing; not putting the plates/dumbbells/barbells back when they're done. Not sure what's going on there on Thursday night but every Friday 5am when I go in to train squats or DL, pretty much all barbells are fully loaded with plates.nIt's great the gym bros can lift heavy, but who cares if you can't strip it back down when you're done.nAlso, some unpleasant male individuals train here who think they can intimidate women-not cool.nWhen do people realize that others want to use certain equipment whilst they just sit there on their phones or chatting away....nJD can do better but there seem to be no rules, full of rude people in the morning and full of kids later in the afternoon ....
Top quality gym, good lighting, lay out is really nice! 24/7. With a sauna. More than enough parking available.nPlate loaded machines are amazing.. some good cardio equipment too and boxing bags. Studio is massive, spin class is massive too. Very clean gym.nnChanging room and showers not the cleanest… can be better. But other than that it’s really great.
BEST ... GYM ... EVER!nWow, I mean just take a look at the pictures! This place is MEGA!nTo think this used to be the old bus depot on Liverpool Road, it's now the nicest gym you'll ever visit. The cardio area alone must have over 100 machines in it, so waiting around definitely won't be an issue. And I do like the high ceilings and open plan nature of this gym.nnFor anyone who likes functional and weightlifting - they have all the Eleiko branded stuff in it's own Eleiko branded area, so you can lift to your hearts content.nnFor people who love the classes, there's an amazing orange studio with a massive amount of kit. And the cool blue Spin room for spinning classes.nnGuys: that free weight area is the best you'll ever come across. Seriously. It's like a jungle full of machines and weights. You'll never struggle to get on anything here.nnOh, and the changing rooms have TV screens and saunas too!nnAnd the price? It's so low that it's almost a joke! For all this and 24 hour access for £19.99 per month I have the multi-site membership, which is just an extra fiver it's a no brainer. In fact, it's a steal. I'm laughing at how cheap this gym actually is, I just can't believe it.nnSeriously, join up!
I understand the annoyance of leaving dumbells and olympic weights around the gym but trying to strike and revoke people's membership over it is absurd.nnToday I was finished with my set on the seated calf raise machine. Immediately after I was asked by a female staff member to remove the Olympic weight and place it back on rack. I did so however, I initially thought it was strange that a staff member tells a gym member to do that as you never see them do that here.nn30 seconds later a different member of staff confronts me infront of a packed gym at peak time with an iPAD randomly asking for my name without any clarification or context. I asked him why and he states that he needs my name because he's giving me 2 strikes on the system for not putting plates back. I've been at this gym since September 2024 and I haven't seen this striking system implemented before. I would only assume this has been added to the jdgym rules which has been recently updated in December 2025 but the gym hasn't bothered to notify members of the change via email despite the rules forming the terms and conditions.nnAfter questioning why i was receiving 2 strikes this staff member states that his colleague saw me do the same thing prior near the Smith machine which was untrue as I hadn't used that during the session.nnAfter having to clarify this multiple times with this specific staff member he eventually apologised stating that he mistook me for someone else who was black and not to take it personally. In addition to this he states he will only give me a warning on the system.nnIt's very concerning how unprofessional this staff member was to have a conversation that could've happened privately in front of a packed gym.
From someone that's never been in a gym, to now someone that loves going! It's a great place. Huge space, brand new equipment, decent range of classes and staff that are really helpful! And the fact it costs £19.99 pm is well priced!
