Over the course of a few years since joining, it’s been a great gym. However it’s starting to look tired, and seems that foot traffic is outpacing the speed in which the staff can repair equipment and deep clean the showers lots of brown staining in the male cubicles from water. Staff are super helpful and friendly.
It’s a well-equipped gym that I’ve been going to for a couple of months now and I find the staff friendly. However, I really object to female members of staff wandering into the male changing room and shower area sometimes they stick a notice up, but not always. I’ve noticed male staff going into the female changing room too, which I think is equally unacceptable.nnThe cleaning could either wait until the changing rooms are closed or a member of the same sex is available to clean the changing areas. To be honest the whole place could be doing with more thorough, regular cleaning, so maybe a deeper clean at the end of the day when they’re quiet would be best.
Great gym. I love that it's 24h now as I prefer going later at night, esepcially as I'm a bigger guy trying to lose the fat. Plenty of equipment, seems well maintained generally as well.nnMy only gripe is that the music in the gym is left BLASTING even at 12am etc. I'm sure when the gym is busy it's not too bad, but when it's later at night, the music's volume is too loud in my opinion.nnI like listening to audio books when i'm doing cardio, and even with noise cancellation on a pair of sony headphones with the volume set to max, the gym's music is louder. Very annoying and doesn't need to be that loud when there's practically nobody in the gym.
Very nice gym. Clean. Spacious. They have day passes for about 10 GBP I believe. Love the muted lighting. Definitely give it a try. BYOT towel in case you want to shower.
JD Gym Greenock is honestly one of the best gyms around. The place is always clean, well laid out, and has absolutely everything you could need — loads of weights, machines, cardio equipment, and a great functional area too. You never really have to wait for anything, even when it’s busy, which is a huge bonus.nThe opening hours are super flexible, and the location’s really handy with plenty of parking. Everything’s easy to get to and accessible, which makes it stress-free from start to finish.nOverall, it’s a great gym with top-notch equipment, a positive vibe, and great value for money. Would definitely recommend JD Gym Greenock to anyone looking for a solid place to train!
