I have a universal JD Gym membership, which allows me to use branches across the UK, but the Bradford branch is by far the worst gym I’ve ever visited. Despite being one of the busiest locations, it is absolutely unhygienic and poorly managed.nnHygiene Issues: The toilets are consistently in a disgusting state, whether you visit early in the morning or late in the evening. They’re never properly cleaned, and the smell is unbearable. It’s unacceptable for a gym that gets so much foot traffic.nBroken Equipment: Many machines are out of order, and they remain broken for extended periods. It’s incredibly frustrating to see this happen repeatedly, especially in such a busy branch.nStaff Attitude: The staff here have an unprofessional and unapproachable attitude. They don’t seem to care about member concerns or the general upkeep of the gym.nManagement Issues: The lack of accountability and action from the management team is shocking. For such a high-revenue branch, how does it still have these persistent issues? How are they even passing audits with this level of neglect?nJD Gym is making substantial money, and Bradford is one of their busiest branches. Yet, it remains the most unhygienic and poorly managed gym I’ve encountered. It’s disappointing that the area manager has failed to address these problems or ensure better standards.nnIf this review reaches higher management, I urge you to take immediate action to improve the hygiene, fix the equipment promptly, and train the staff to provide a more professional and welcoming experience.nnMembers deserve better, especially considering how much we pay for this service.
The gym itself wasn’t the worst I’ve been to. I’ve never been to a gym where the clientele have so little respect for the equipment. At one point I think 75 percent of the dumbbells were sat in the middle of the floor in the free weights area. There were gym plates strewn all over the place. It’s not hard to use a weight and put it back in the rack. I got my workout in but was shocked that staff weren’t encouraging better behaviour or actively setting a better example. Tbf I only saw one member of staff and that clean up would’ve been a difficult job for one man.
Isn't even a question!! The WORST gym I have ever been too.nI travel the world and have never been to a gym managed so badly.nThe equipment is horrible and looks like it was borrowed from a third world country.nThe entire place smells foul! The changing/locker room smells like Diarrhea and death in a mixing bowl and baked st 500.nIt's overly crowded, which technically isn't their fault.nHow is it legally aloud to stay open.nIt is never ever cleaned. There are lockers in the changing room that are full of trash that hasn't been moved. Equipment not cleaned and nothing for the gym goers to clean with. Equipment seems to be repaired when repeaired to the bare minimum. Meaning just to get by.nI would never sit on the floor in fear of catching some incurable disease.nI thought the reputation of JD gyms were superb.nI feel like this gym loves all the bad reviews because it seems like there are a lot and for a while.nnI really really wish I could go to a different gym but already paid for the membership.
Was moved to the gym after previous gym was closed. By far the worst gym in Bradford. Weights are never put away. Machine constantly broken & leather pads cracking & worn. Equipment misused. Dumbbells 40kg been out of use for over a year broken. Dumbbells as follows have been damaged due to miss use of equipment by other members & out of use; 28kg, 30kg, 32kg, 34kg, 36kg, 42kg, 48kg & 50kg. They have been slammed or chucked around and been out of use for over 2 months now. What is the purpose of a gym if it can’t even provide decent equipment?! The website says they have hundreds of pieces but a third of them are out of use. Equipment never get cleaned properly. Showers only stay on when pressed for 5seconds so needs to be constantly pressed. Changing rooms are not cleaned until the end of the day so it is not very hygienic or full of empty bottles. In my opinion they should of had more eyes in the free weights section as this is where most of the weights are not put away or dumbbells being miss used or they wouldn’t be broken in the 1st place. No action has been taken & if so a little too late. No management on late shift which is a must. Cleaners being told to put weights back in late shifts!
Absolutely shocking how the standards have dropped here since it first opened.nFirstly many machines are out of order or missing parts to operate.nThe sauna absolutely smells foul with most people wearing underwear and no signs anywhere to tell them otherwise.nThe men’s changing room is unbelievably dirty and looks like it’s maybe cleaned once a week. Most lockers are occupied without a lock on which means you needlessly walk round opening lockers which are in use. There is no soap in the toilets most of the time. I’m seriously considering leaving if I don’t see an improvement soon. The only thing keeping me here are Mos classes which are really good. The management needs to show some attention to the above issues.
