As airport eateries go, Jamie Oliver’s Diner is a good crack. The menu is influenced by dishes from North America and is on the whole an exciting fast food selection. Service was quick, considerate and food was delivered quickly. The price is arguably a little steep, other than that thoroughly recommended.
I had dinner while waiting for a flight. The staff are courteous and attentive. I ordered a chicken dish which was full of flavour. It was cooked nice and tender. Didn't have to wait long for the staff to bring the food. Before I was seated they told that the waiting time is 15 minutes. They don't add service charge to the bill.
Thought the food was great for the price, with interesting mixes of British and American flavor... Honestly, one of the best restaurants we ate at in Britain over an entire week. The staff was a bit slow though, and then tried to teach us how we should order more quickly in the future.
On the way home from a two week trip around Europe, we stopped in here around noon for some food before a long flight. We got seated quickly and greeted by a server. My boyfriend and I both ordered a coffee and water. The server was very quick. They serve a few breakfast options all day. I’m not sure why the reviews for this spot are so low because it was really good. We both ordered the large breakfast dish... SO MUCH FOOD! It had eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, steak, toast, and a waffle with pork. It looked amazing but also tasted great ! The pork waffle was definitely the best part. Not something I would typically get, but I’m glad I did. I was so full when I was done. All the food was cooked perfectly. I did see some burgers from the next table and they also looked great. So if you are in Gatwick airport, head here.
It’s was pretty bad. The service was very very slow! The burger was over cooked. A baby gem salad was just a lettuce cut in half with some sauce on it. There were two pickles just slapped on the tray. To be honest it was very disappointing for £15 each. The roof beer was good though : That is what it get the 1 star for.
Their food was alright. Didn't expect much from the beginning. Terrible service though. I ordered a glass of house wine for the price of 7.79. When the bill came, the server had charged me more. I asked the server about the charge she said: we ran out of house wine so you drank this oneshe points at the menu. me: okay? Shouldn't you have at least informed me then? waitress: She snatch the check with major attitude and says UGH! OK! I'll take it off the bill!! ME: no, I drank this so I will pay for it but you should've let me know before giving me something else that costs more than what I had expected! HER: OK! then what do you want me to do?! What kind of service is this!! I was being polite before she slammed down the table to snatch the check! even after her attitude, I tried so freaking damn hard to keep calm.
My husband & I had a quick breakfast before boarding. His full Monty looked and tasted great. My egg Benedict with smoked salmon looked bare but still tasted ok. The service was slow and we had to request a follow up. Then the food arrived almost immediately. I expected better food quality and service. After all it’s Jamie Oliver’s restaurant.
The burger looked great but the meat was awful, dry, too processed and dense, tasteless, tough, could not eat it. Horrendous price for quality of food. The Double Trouble Burger with fries £16.99. Pint of Brewdog £6.69.
Went to this place before heading to my plane to have a quick dinner. They serve comfort food and I went for the pulled pork burger that comes with skinny fries. The restaurant has a bar area and a dining area. You can sit in either as the menu is the same except the bar is not seated service. Not many choice of restaurants in Gatwick and that’s probably one of the better alternatives.
nice burger / pulled pork taste experience in gatwick airport however it feels more like eating in a canteen to eat on the paper leaf which melts in the food btw then in a Jamie restaurant, I can’t say i was pleased by the plate sight either; efficient service though but not that smily. Wide range of beers, airport prices and all you need to charge phones and laptops
