Gem on Holloway road! You can get EVERYTHING you need there. I've bought kids toys, bedding, stuff for the kitchen, last minute birthday gifts and strapless bras. Loads of concessions of all the major retail brands.
Selbys is a hidden gem. It sells most products, most of which are tried & tested brands. The staff are extremely helpful especially on the perfume counter. local community should be
Good range of clothing. Service is meh. I arrived 25 minutes before they closed and the beauty bar for eyebrow threading refused to serve me as she wanted to close up :
Selbys has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very helpful. Today a member of staff opened up a till as soon as they noticed a queue building up. There is a good selection of clothing on the ground floor, including from a range of well known brands, and homeware on the first.
That’s the best shop in Holloway Road where you can actually find everything you need! The staff is very friendly too.
Like a small John Lewis. We were particularly impressed by the kitchenware section which was large, well presented and reasonably priced. Nice to support a long-established local department store too - feels like a bit of a blast from the past.
Good assortment of the brands. Good quality goods "reasonably overprived" - I guess "local posh" guys are mostly hanging out there
One of the last local department stores located in what is otherwise a bit of a retail desert. Selbys has a very good selection for a moderately sized department store. The store is well organised and well staffed. There is a Nero café on the first floor that is kind of an oasis from the high street and Nags Head market bustle. Considering the size of the store, there is a surprisingly large toy section. Dinnerware, cookware and kitchen appliances area is also decent.
Selby's is cool. You however can find similar or the same generic items in Argos at times. But it's a really comfortable place to shop so that's why I go here. I did have an issue a few months back in the lower ground floor, with the staff member following me around. He asked me a few times if I wanted any help and I did not. There was no reason to keep bothering me and following me. He did this on purpose to intimidate me.
Absolutely awful. Atrocious toilets. You would've thought it hadn't been cleaned in a month. Filthy. Weird noises.
