Ordered as soon as they opened at 5pm, the guy said the food would arrive around 6pm, I thought an hour was a bit long but I accepted it. At 6.30 I called back when nothing had arrived, the same guy said, the driver is leaving in 5 minutes… you mean he hasn’t left yet with my food? The guy said, he’ll check. Nobody called me back so at 6.55 I called again, I told him this was not acceptable customer service. While he was on the phone, the food arrived, 2 hours after I’d put the order in. Apparently, the driver had other people’s food to drop off before mine, despite my being the first customer they spoke to. In the end, they gave me £2 off my order. The food was cold and as I’d ordered over £25 worth of food, their own leaflet said they would give you an onion bhajee and Bombay aloo for free, that was not there of course. I would never order from them again and would never recommend them. The service is shocking, I waited 2 hours and of course, the food was cold. One of the worst delivery experiences I’ve ever had.
Ordered food from this takeaway only to find a one inch screw in my tandoori roti. I’ve taken pictures and reported the incident to food hygiene standard. I might add he was very nonchalant about the incident and didn’t seem particularly worried or bothered about my complaint, I was offered another meal but refused. He did send his driver back with a full refund and the driver took pictures of the item found in my food.
Allahummabarak food was TOPS! A*****! If I could give this a 6 stars rating I would. I collected the food and was piping hot, their biryani and dhaal especially never fails to surprise me, best dhaal I’ve ever had. I also ordered some butter chicken, korma, the jalalis special and one of their prawn dishes, everything was bursting of flavour, and you could taste the uniqueness in every dish, food was fresh and cooked in the time I desired, would definitely order again, thank you.
First order and never again. One item missing, they won't deliver it. I had to go back for it and they gave me uuh two poppadoms for free. Food is average. Basic tomato base and no flavour, maybe they run out of spices. This is what I get for ordering local my favourite Indian takeaway is in West Croydon! Edit: their leaflet is full of lies. -5 star hygiene rating: no, you have 4. It's in the cover of your leaflet. -Takeaway of the year by The Guardian in 2007: by the Croydon Guardian, you mean. It's also in your cover. -Chef has been voted Chef of the Year at the Guardian restaurant awards: well, no, highly commended at the Curry Chef of the year competition by Croydon Council's EH department. It's at the bottom of the page
Ordered a meal for 2 at 6.25pm, arrived at a bit later than 8pm lukewarm and tasteless. There was more watery, flavourless sauce than prawns, the naan was dry but poppadoms were good.
I was pleased with the delivery and the price for the amount of food being ordered however. Chicken tikka masala - one piece of chicken smelt like Dettol! A number of people tasted it and thought the same! Spat out immediately! Lamb dopiaza - lamb was not tender, tough, not cooked properly Alu Ghobi - smelt lemony, like something had curdled, we didn’t eat Rest was ok I guess but I’m just waiting to see if the Dettol chicken is going to give me food poisoning. Usually I would keep the leftovers, sadly all thrown away :
This place is going downhill fast. It use to be good but seriously people look elsewhere. Tasteless food I asked for only breast meat received a leg!!! Portions getting smaller and did not get any salad which normally you receive. I ordered from a new place and have to say hands down they were amazing. Free popodoms with 3 free sauces and full salad! Fix up Jalalis won't be ordering from you again
ordered same meals two evening in a row - peshwari naan, stuffed paratha and tarka dahl - the taste was consistent and very very good. First time I tasted such well made indian food in London.
Worse customer service !! Placed an order at 7pm was told it would be here at 8pm its now 9pm no sign of our delivery ring them a number of times first to be told its coming in 5mins left it 45mins and rang back to be hung up and told no order was made and now saying they have delivered!! They are rude and quote frankly dont deserve any customers!
Wrong order came through. No chicken or butter in chicken butter just potatoes in curry sauce . The special rice was nice though. Not worth our £21!
