J W Buckley Ltd is a third-generation family bakery and has been run by the Scholes family for over 50 years. Our bakery is open 7 days a week providing freshly baked produce to both shops in the village of Uppermill, Saddleworth and to our wholesale customers.

Amazing assortment of cakes, pies and pasties to cater for any taste. The sandwiches are filled with fresh produce and any variety of salad is offered. We use this spotlessly clean shop very regularly and have never been disappointed. You will never have a vanilla slice as big or as tasty anywhere. Would definitely recommend a visit, you will return many times
This is such a nice bakery! The staff are pleasant and kind, the food is of good quality and it’s inexpensive too! There’s a wide selection of products to chose from and it’s full of traditional local favourites.
Great local bakery with amazing fresh bread — try the ciabatta. Personally love their sandwiches and the Manchester tart is delicious.
Fantastic bakers making excellent cakes and pastries as well as beautiful savoury pies and sandwiches. Fabulous value for money. Excellent staff dealing efficiently with customers, particularly as they are often really busy.
Is absolutely the best bakery in Uppermill. Open 7 days a week, hot and cold food/drinks available, very large menu, traditional bread, pies, sandwiches, the cakes are delicious. Very good quality and great service. You will not be disappointed.
Love Buckley's bakery, we get our bread from here every week. The chocolate fudge brownie cakes are amazing, especially when you drown them in custard. Fresh sandwiches and pies are always incredible too.
Unfortunately they were renovating. Back open 19th September. The sign said you could go to the bakery itself , but did not say where that was.
Every time we come to Saddleworth we treat ourselves to the most excellent sandwiches and pies. The fillings are wonderful and the pastry is light and crisp. Wish I could have one right now!
Been out walking and called for a couple of takeaway coffees and a warm Cornish pastie. Coming from the other side of the hills Yorkshire god's own pie country , it's hard for me to admit that it was one of the nicest Cornish pasties I've ever had.. Nice coffee too by the way , and excellent value for just over a fiver for all three items.. Will definitely be calling again when over that way..
Many thanks to Graham and the young lady who served our pie supper during the Saddleworth male voice choir ‘Folk night’ at the Boarshurst band club last night. Top quality delicious food and impeccable service.
