Always polite and eager to help and advise. Normally got exactly what you need 99% of the time and if for some reason they don't have it, they can't apologise enough. How the staff know exactly where everything is from the largest item to the smallest screw in that shop is beyond me. They even know individual item prices too. Incredible. How anyone has anything negative to say about this gem of a shop is ridiculous. A real asset to the community, near and far.

Don't know how any one can say a bad word about this place. A staple local independent hardware shop in Southend for decades now. Sells quality products, has staff who know what they are talking about, organised, well run and a really cute cat that potters about. I love this place, my Dad would shop there, I have done and I'm sure one day my son will too. The type of business a town should be proud of. Or you can go to B&Q and pay for fat cat directors to siphon off profits into offshore tax havens. I wonder what adds more value to the local shopping parade...... You want a handful of screws, some plasterboard fixings, tin of paint or a hammer, last thing you want to do is drive out of town or into a busy high street and spend just as long parking, driving or stuck in the lights. Keep up the good work

Great hardware shop where you don't get ripped off when all you need is a handful screws, a plug fuse etc Unlike major well know DIY stores items are priced proportionally and not £3 for 10 screws. The staff can be slightly hard work but not to the extent that i need to come online to make defamatory comments about their appearance or demeanor. Overall a good store and one of the last of its kind.

Every screw or nail you'll ever need, shame about everything else. As you walk in you get a wonderful look from the staff as if you've got something inflammatory tattooed on your forehead, but don't worry; they're happy to help, or at least vaguely point. Not to mention how difficult it is to find anything, it seems the stock was arranged under the influence.
