We had our sons christening here and everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were so easy to deal with from the start. We had a party of 18 so meals were pre booked and this made the process so smooth. The food was lovely, and the staff were so friendly and professional. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely day! Thank you so much!
We had a large group for a 60th birthday party, the food was pre-ordered and was served very promptly. Service was great and the staff were very accommodating. The food was delicious from starter to dessert. The setting was also impressive in the restaurant and the bar had plenty of atmosphere. We will be back soon.Service: 5/5
Lovely meal in the restaurant. Very good value for money. The staff are very attentive and you really couldn't fault them. Definitely a restaurant we would be returning to againService: 5/5
To start the afternoon off, me and my parents went to see if a table was free in the restaurant unfortunately there was not without a booking. That was fine so we were sent to the bar. Sat down and menus were handed and the waitress asked if we would like a drink. She came back some time later with only 2 drinks 3 were ordered Never again the wine glass pictured looked as if It was never washed and just given from another table. It had floaters... When asked where the other drink was non alcoholic she said she could not find it. Previous to the not being able to find the drink she gave us cutlery now saying it was gave it more like a drop on the table with a fork missing. And that when we are ready to order to come up to the bar because she was too busy. Now I can understand that but it was the attitude. We will not be returning
We are regulars here and have been going since I was a child! The staff are always really friendly and attentive, nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is always great and tastes fresh. It is obvious that they use great quality ingredients. The prices are a bit on the expensive side in my opinion but to be honest I’d rather pay a bit more for good quality food and service. There are 2 electric car chargers in their car park as well - they’re ESB ones so they’re free although I am aware they’re going to start charging for them at the end of April. Would really recommend the Ivanhoe.
Have to say i had higher expectations for this hotel after seeing others reviews. It wasn't a bad hotel, but just not great. Firstly our room had a few fixtures looking a bit tatty such as the metal plate that covers the lock on the inside of the door was hanging off, the toilet roll holder was crooked & the paintwork in the bathroom was poor. The floors were very weird too, they had a lot of bounce in the floor boards which can be noisy to anyone nearby. We didn't sleep well in our bed either, the matress wasn't great. And even though we turned down the heat in the room as per instructions on the wall it kept going back up so it was hard to regulate the room temperature which didn't help. There was also some maintenance going on in the building & our window was right above the skip so that was fairly noisy 1st thing in the morning. The staff in the front desk weren't too pleasant either, except for a man who worked there on our departure at 10 at night. The other staff were very friendly & helpful though, such as our room service staff, restaurant staff & bar staff. As for the breakfast i thought it was just ok. The sausages were a bit tough. The food in the restaurant wasn't great, and after seeing good reviews i was surprised by this. We got turkey & ham dinners & our meat had lots of fat not trimmed off, our ham was very chewy. The mash, turkey & gravy were just ok. The dinner just didn't have much flavour going in. The highlight of our dinner was the side of triple cooked chips which were delicious. The restaurant itself looks so fresh & quite a nice atmosphere in there. The bar was good & not badly priced, all the staff were very friendly. But i think the food is over priced for the poor quality food. I actually have had nicer turkey & ham dinners in our local shops deli counter for less than half the price. Overall i think the hotel itself for what we paid £215 for 2 nights was a bit pricey for what you get, it wasn't a horrible experience, but i doubt i would go back, unless it was just to the bar.
I went to The Ivanhoe & Inn for a meal with my sister on the 29/1/23. The staff were very helpful & friendly. They gave us a menu & we then ordered meal. This is the first time I’ve ever been here & for me it was somewhere different to other places that I’ve been to. The Ivanhoe Hotel & Inn is located on The Saintfield Road between Belfast & Carryduff& is well worth a visit. Stephen Acton.
