Another wonderful venue for chocoholics if you want a real hot chocolate gourmet experience away from the crowds in Oxford Street.nnI found the milk chocolate Italian hot chocolate just right - not too thick at all! The chocolate cake drenched in dark, milk and white chocolate was lovely as was the fragrant jasmine tea snd white chocolate cheesecake.nnTremendous service too. Chocolate rules
Updated with summer review of July 2024:nnSo we decided to go again and this time visited the branch on a sweltering evening of July in London and decided to go for their milkshakes and yet again our taste buds were won by their tasty chocolatey milkshake.nnBeware: the milkshakes are very heavy especially if you decide to go after the triple chocolate on the glass - check photos for before and after. Heaven drink for chocolate lovers and more so if you like hazelnut flavour then the gianduja milkshake would do you good!nnOkay so first thing about this restaurant would be to come here ONLY with booking, especially their SOHO branch!!nThis branch did allow us to queue up and the wait time was not that much, but still it’s a hassle if you do not have a booking.nnNow, let’s come to the best part - the food review:nI have had their triple hot chocolate earlier when this was called Said Dal 1923, not sure when they changed it and why, but the authenticity of the hot chocolate remains intact and my photos should justify two things - first, my love for chocolate and second, what exactly the taste of rich chocolate looks like.nI only have praises for the chocolate cake and hot chocolate but beware - two large hot chocolates and a cake shared amongst a couple is bound to bring sugar rush but for chocolate lovers it’s a great opportunity to grab more from your partner!
There's never enough chocolate. Just kidding, it is. We thought we could handle the cake and cookie with our mocha and hot chocolate, but didn't expect to have our cups and saucers covered with melted chocolate which was way too much sweet for us, so be careful. Service was great even though it was packed. The place was kind of small, I was expecting it to be a little bit more comfy.
If you’re craving an abundance of chocolate, you really can’t go wrong at Italian Bear Chocolate.nnThere are cookies, cakes, fruits, ice cream, and hot chocolates that you can drench in milk/ dark/ white chocolate. There are even gluten free cakes which are divine. I personally think the ice cream and Dolce Ricco are the standout menu items.nnThe service has always been friendly when I’ve visited. The spot used to formerly be SAID dal 1923, but it’s far better now.nnThis is a lovely place for a cocoa filled dessert in London! It’s so good I even get takeout cakes on occasion just to snack on later.
Good staffnGood placenHowever the coffee we ordered were cold. They charged us for the customization of mixing an additional syrup , but didn’t do so.
