Really nice. Traditional style bar and restaurant. Plenty of local drinks. Very nice open fire. Dog friendly. Food was good quality throughout. The place was fairly busy so took a wee while to be seated for food but we were invited to enjoy drinks at the bar and actually it wasn't as long a wait as they had estimated.
Lovely Inn in Portree, Isle of Skye. The service was competent, quick and friendly. Food-wise I can highly recommend taking a look at the specials: we tried the beef cheeks and the catch of the day. Both were delicious, well prepared and of high quality. The servings could have been bigger in my personal view. I wasn‘t 100% convinced by the desserts - I had a chocolate cake with vegan ice cream. The ice cream was delicious but the cake was a bit heavy. I think the prices are competitive overall considering the location and demand, but seeing the bill hurt a little bit. In my personal opinion the value-for-money was a little low. Thanks for having us
Went on a sat aft and it was packed with diners and people waiting to eat. Great atmosphere. Barman said it’s always busy. Which we found round a lot of the island. We went back again the next day and was amazed there was a table free for lunch so had a fantastic meal. Staff all great and friendly.
Of the 3 venues I ate at whilst in Portree early Nov 2022, this was the best meal I had in terms of taste and value for money. Delicious steak and ale pie with fresh veg - it was so good but I couldn't finish it there was so much food! Even though the staff were a man down due to injury, they were all polite and friendly. Definitely go here while you are in Portree!
Wow!!! Food is just amazing. Same as hospitality. Dogs friendly. We had fantastic dinner after long day of travel. All staff members were kind and helpful. But food... served beautifully, tasty and high quality. There is bar with wood burner on the right side and restaurant on the left. It's nice, cozy atmosphere. Guys, you've made our day! Thank you!
Just popped in for a drink and a meal. Service was amazing, and the food was superb! Huge servings came out quite quickly even though they were fully booked. Tasted great, really amazing dinner. Thank you, definitely recommend!Service: 5/5
Fantastic hospitality. We were stuck in Portree due to bad weather and the staff went above and beyond to find us a room and make us feel as comfortable as possible. The food was delicious, rooms were cozy and the scotch whiskey was good too! A+ for service, would highly recommend to anyone in the area!
Was in the area for a lunch break and chose The Isles Inn. I had sweet potato soup for the 1st time ever, and it was delicious! I also chose the BLT because it was light and quick. The sandwich was definitely fresh and great tasting. I enjoyed the decor and the staff was friendly.
Went there because of all the positive reviews and definitely wasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere with friendly locals and visitors. Food was very nice and not expensive. Staff really friendly and helpful. A small band of musicians played some great Irish/ Scottish folk songs.Service: 5/5
We stopped here for an evening meal. Although we had to wait in the bar for over an hour, it was worth the wait. The bar seating wasn't the most comfortable though. Vegetarian fish and chips deep fried halloumi cheese was amazing. Steaks were great and offered a gluten free option too. Staff were friendly and helpful and would recommend this place to all.
