You must come and visit. You don’t have to be a whisky fan to enjoy Islay. It’s beautiful and peaceful.
I have been fortunate to have visited many towns and cities in Scotland, but Islay is the most friendly place I have been to for a very long time. The people are amazing, everyone seems so happy.
Love Islay our 6th time there and just so much to see and do on this beautiful Island and not all about whisky as there is great walks and stunning scenery including the beaches. At Portnahaven you will see seals on the bay which is a beautiful village. The people on Islay are so friendly and helpful.
Fabulous island to visit - plenty fishing mostly free 12 distilleries - lots to see and visit for the size of the island 15 x 25 miles well worth a visit
What a handsome place! We were stunned by the natural beauty of this rugged island. Amazing produce, friendly people and a perfect place for a relaxing, slow-paced getaway. Hire bikes and explore distilleries, eat as much seafood as you can Portnahaven especially and take time to see as much of the island as you can. Will definitely visit here again.
The Whisky island with currently 9 fabulous distilleries. A must visit destination for whisky and peace & tranquility
A nice little Island that is worth a visit. We had 2 nights at Port Mor community centre camp site in our motorhome. Really enjoyed our stay. Whilst here we toured around the Island and spent a bit of time investigating the various beaches, harbours and doing a bit of shopping in the local shops. All very nice and scenic and the local folk were all very pleasant that we saw.
Had the fortune to visit this Island through work, to learn more about the Bruichladdich whisky that's made here. It was a great experience in both snow, rain and sun.
Amazing Island especially for whiskey and nature lovers!
Finally we could make our way to Islay again. 2 distilleries we hadn't visited before, fine weather and unforgettable nights in Port Charlotte.
