Great museum and working locomotive workshop. Only open Sundays from 10 as completely run by volunteers, and what amazing people volunteer to run this place. They make things come alive and happy to spend time explaining things to adults and kids alike. We came here for the Jungle Parc zip wire climbing which was also excellent and didn't really imagine to also find so much heritage of the areas industrial past to discover too. Amazing to think a locomotive workshop is still working with hand powered tools as they do not have mains power or water. They even gave a little lesson on the fossils and geology under the ground to my 5 year old. We will be back to this lovely park and museum with my father one day. No entrance fee but donations welcome and lots of interesting books and items to browse in the shop.
Great volunteers make this place come alive, they spent of time with my 4 year old little boy, showing him how they dug the rails into places and let him into the cabs of the trains. I was shown the inside of a boiler too which was cool. Shop is exceptionally good value, they take card payment too. Lovely place.

Lovely little museum to visit set in a great park which is good for a nice walk, with ample parking that is very reasonable priced.
The musuem it's self it lovely, not very big and most people seem to think it's closed, but I can assure you it's not, definitely worth the visit. The staff are so kind, and make the trip down worth. When I went it was raining and the wonderful man in the shop played with my 4 year old and listened to her rambling until the rain stopped. Which I very much appreciated.
Nice if you like that sort of thing, explains a bit about the quarry, donations welcome.
Very friendly staff and a really interesting little museum.
Really nice place to look around, shame there's nothing running, funding I guess... but educational and nice to look round. Nice something left from the old railway days.
