Story

Established in 1997, Intransit Removals & Storage was founded on providing cost effective yet professional service to it's clients, no matter how small or big the job in question...

Through sheer commitment and hard work of everyone involved, the company quickly rose in stature, constant high recommendation led to more work, and with natural progression gained it's National Certificate of Professional Competence in road haulage (CPC) enablbing the company to apply for it's Operators (O) licence - for those that do not know, this is not an easy task and becomign harder, but enables you to run vehicles under strict guide lines 7.5t and above. The laws concerning weight restrictions on vehicles have been stepped up in previous years, and removal companies are hit harder than most as the weight is generally unknown, and cannot be a case of just filling space... hence with clients homes increasing in volume of contents, this was the only move for us to take. The company gradually expanding with a mix of professionlism and heavy marketing, and in 2006 we gained a International O licence to run across Europe. Our CV was becoming complete.

The company as i write in 2013 strives to be the most professional mover in our area, we service mainly to & from Trowbridge, Melksham, Chippenham, Bath, Malmesbury, Keynesham, Radstock, Frome, Warminster, Westbury, Devizes, Pewsey, Marlborough, Calne, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and all the villages in between. Although our main core business is domestic house removals, we also complete many Office Relocations and becoming more common, they have different requirements and equipment required, normally requiring more staff, vehicles and commitment to get the company up and running again which can mean relocating over weekends or even over night!! Second to these areas is Storage, we have 2 vast warehouses and we store belongings in 250 cubic feet wooden containers, these containers stack on top of each other, and nearly all of our fleet of vehicles take these containers on board, allowing us to load at residence thus cutting down actual handling of goods, the forklift does the rest! The store is computerised, allowing us to keep track on your precious belongings, the warehouses themselves boast state of the art alarms and CCTV, remain roughly in contstant temperature due to triple insulation, and we even have vermin control in place. We are available for removal & storage, however, we offer storage for single items, vehicles & caravans, Self Storage and Archive Document Storage, we are cost effective however when looking for storage you should not be looking for the cheapest, this is not shipping containers in a field, this is state of the art storage - indoors!! Storage available from just days, to years!! The company will look at moving anything, anywhere, most of our removals are local, however, we will move anyone Country wide, into all of Europe and ship anyone, anywhere across the World. We also provide removal Box & Packaging sales, if you move with us these are provided anyway, however we sell boxes, tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, garment boxes & loose fill - all top quality and available at any quantity, and can be delivered locally.

Along with, part load removals, piano movement, single item delivery, charity work, Commercial Crate Hire, Retail Home Delivery, Corporate Installation (Hotels & Holiday Parks for example), man & van hire, export wrapping, packing services, Emergency Insurance removal & storage - we do anything to do with relocation, truly you "one stop relocation shop"...

We are also one of the only local companies to be accredited to membership of the prestigious British Association of Removers (BAR) - this means a number of things to the consumer, to such an extent many people use us as we are members, we are inspected by them, and have to adhere to a strict code of conduct, we use their Terms & Conditions and the only ones in the removals industry to be over seen by the Office of Fair Trading (OfT), thus providing confidence in our services, this also means we have a heavy network of fellow members across the Country, and in the main we look after each other should there be a problem away from home for example.

As we stand in 2013, we have a licence for 10x vehicles (7.5t+) and 2x trailers, we also own 3x vans of differing sizes. Total current capacity of our fleet in cubic feet is around 17,750 - which equates to around 10x 3 bed houses, a day if need be, every day - and still growing. Our warehousing takes a capacity of around 400 storage containers, and we have further options. We employ all local staff, and hopefully as our operation expands so will their involvement and we will seek to employ more local people. We aim to train as much as possible along the way to, ensuring that our business is taken as professional as it is. As of January 2013 our call centre will also have the capacity to take 3 calls at once, through the 13 phone lines into the building, we have an answerphone available 24/7. Our website wiltshireremovals.com was updated and renewed in 2012, and we take enquiries daily from the site which has been extremely successful, so successful in fact the idea was copied by many others, but gladly not to our extent, we also have 80x domain names all mostly pointed to our one site. We market heavily everywhere and support local business back in the same way which our business is supported, we advertise in many areas, and this year looking at sponsorship of local sporting people and events.

Aside from the masses of home removal we carry out both large and small, some of our current and previous clients include; NHS, Wiltshire College, Wiltshire Council, Harvey's Furnishing, Cargo Homeshop, The British Heart Foundation, Sealy Beds, Center Parcs, Benson's for Beds, Sleepmasters, Dreams, B&Q, Zircon Software, Parragon Books, Park Retail, and many many more smaller businesses...
