The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, clean and warm. Breakfast was adequate. Cooked breakfast was good. Disappointed with lack of cereals, cooked breakfast plate had toast and butter on it. Never experienced this before! More like transport cafe! Would have liked to have it on a separate plate.
Hotel was easy to find with good parking. Check in staff were friendly. The room was a good size for four of us and spotlessly clean. Being in an old building, the floors were uneven and the stairs steep - it added to the charm for us but wouldn't be suitable for anyone with access requirements. Only two towels were provided and there was no obvious way to communicate with staff other than returning down the stairs. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others needing a hotel in the area.
Not much to say, I did not have great expectations because it was so cheap for a nights stay. However, when I arrived the staff were lovely in greeting me in the Steakhouse and they got Neville to take care of me. What a lovely chap Neville is. He booked me in and took me to the door accessing the stairs. Explained about the key fob, how to get in and out of the side door etc. The room was very clean, the shower is terrific and the bed very comfortable. I had a very good sleep. I have never been to Stockport before, I was attending an old friends funeral, and unlikely to go there again but if I need a room elsewhere I shall be looking for an Innkeeper.
Beautiful venue, very clean and modern. Stayed over night in a lovely double room. Which is almost brand new. Will definitely be returning. Stairs may pose a challenge for some but didn't bother me. Parking was great too and free.Rooms: 5/5
Budget hotel and the lack of investment shows. The first room I was given the keys to had not been cleaned after the previous guest. The reception sorted out a new room efficiently. The new room had damaged locks and handle. Clearly the door had been forced at some point and I tightened some of the screws. The paintwork needs refreshing. Room was clean and comfortable.
The room was clean, beautifully decorated, spacious and warm. Also great value fpr money! However, the lack of elevator and the narrow stairs are quite an issue for older people or people with impaired mobility or luggage or a combination.
It was great that it’s close by the airport and the venue I had to go. The restaurant is excellent. People are very supportive and friendly. The rooms toward the Main Street are a little bit noisy and the windows not easily to be opened. Overall it was great.
Comfortable and clean but paper thin walls. Next to a noisy couple who woke us at 1pm just by talking. Smell of beef pervades the upstairs which maybe unacceptable to vegetarians. Rooms accessed by two flights of narrow stairs. Not suitable for mobility problems. Shame as very comfortable room. Nearby activities: Hand public transport for Manchester. Walkability: 2 minutes from bus to Manchester a d 5 minutes to station.
The room and bed was lovely. All the staff were very friendly. The only problem was there was a slight smell of grease/oil on the 2nd floor and in our bedroom, saying that we would stay again.
Emailed and called at 17.45pm to say my arrival would be later due to travel issues and the phone's auto response said it was now turned off and to email but had no email reply either. When I did arrive the night porter buzzer said 'not in use' and there was no one to be seen through any of the doors or windows around the whole property to let me in. I was a scared female on my own and in tears at 1am thinking I'd have to sleep in my car or start my 2 hour drive home. Awful experience.
