I certainly picked a great day to visit! I did the full trail which I would say is a medium in terms of walking. I wouldn’t take our 5 year old; too steep in some places and it’s a long loop. The views are stunning. It was hot, so an ankles dip in the pools were welcome! I would definitely do this again. The parking charge might seem high but it’s clear that attention goes into maintaining the trails and litter picking. Totally worth it.
Been wanting to do this walk for a long time and finally managed to do it!nYes, £10 per person entry note - credit card only is a lot of money when there are many other scenic walks in the UK which cost nothing. However if you only ever do this once then you only pay once! And it's worth doing at least once just to see the stunning scenery.nnThere is a big car park with toilets at the start and then once you pay you simply follow the one way path in a circle back to the start.nnI'm reasonably fit but the 4.5 mile walk was still quite hard work at times.nThere is a lot of steps as well as paths some flat, some not so flat and also some narrow bridges.nLuckily it was really quiet the day we went and we didn't see that many people, and never had to wait to cross a bridge.nnThere is a lot of different scenery along the walk, sometimes you're walking through forest, and sometimes in the open with hills as far as the eye can see.nSome of the waterfalls are very impressive too, but I think that some of the scenery was as impressive as the waterfalls which made for a lovely walk.nnJust over half way round you get to Beezly farm, where there are toilets and a little hatch where they server hot/cold drinks, ice cream and snacks. There are tables here too which we used to rest for a bit before we continued the walknnHighly recommend that you do this walk, but it is not recommended for anyone who isn't fit or cannot walk too far.
Nicely designed trail. Approximately completion time 2.5 hours to 3.5 hours. Busy on weekends. Its designed for one way walking, Once you start trail, no way to exit. Start from Car parking and ends at same place. Ticket 10 pounds per person including car parking. Need tracking shoes, tracking sticks and water and some refreshments. No entry door on exit route, don't try to start trail from wrong side. Beautiful trail, beautiful views, some sitting benches available. After completion of one trail; a coffee and ice cream truck available. Rest rooms available at the start of 2nd trail.nMust follow the signs, directions and numbers displayed on track. Better to download trail map.
Absolutely amazing. This is easy to moderate walk. Beautiful 4 hours all around. We really enjoyed. We had a 5 years old with us and he did it with no problem obviously with rest in between. The scenery along the route is stunning. I don't understand people complain about the £10 charge. This route is highly maintained with concrete stars wooden bridges along the route and fencing as well. To maintain this route cost money as well as the free parking area. If you are around the Lake District do not miss this route. Make sure you bring with you some snacks and comfortable hiking shoes which are water resistant and with good grape for slippery area around the route.
Fantastic walk - about 5 miles round including through the village on the way back. There is a LOT of up and a LOT of down, so I'd suggest wearing good boots or walking shoe. Lots and lots of uneven steps if you and any mobility issues do not attempt. Highly recommend that you do this walk, but it is not recommended for anyone who isn't fit or cannot walk too far. Overall definitely worth a visit. Such a beautiful and peaceful part of the country. Very well organised for parking and tickets, all staff very pleasant. A couple of places to get something to eat or drink on the way round. Only negative is that it is card only.
