Lovely quaint restaurant. Makes a nice change from all the fish and chips. Eating in is more expensive than take away. Great service by the staff and the food was beautiful. Cash only. This place does authentic Indian but also pizzas for those who don’t like spice.
The food from India Gate is always lovely. Not greasy, fresh produce, really tasty, well cooked. For delivery they let themselves down in the details, and it's enough to be annoying, but not enough to ring them and demand they put it right. Last time we had no sauce with my vegetable biryani, so I just ate rice. This time we ordered 2 lots of 2 poppadoms and 4 pickles. We got 1 mango chutney, 1 red onion, 7 seven tubs of raita, and just 2 poppadoms. We have enough raita to bathe in, and 2 poppadoms between 4 people. Send all the food we order and it would be 5 stars.
Bit expensive despite being BYO drinks. Food was OK. Plain naan was delicious, but the garlic naan was odd. Kids korma was OK. My curry was very full of onions and limited on chicken. Not many Indian restaurants around so not much competition, but not sure I'd recommend.
The food was tasty enough but there was very little meat in my curry, and I was expecting to see cheese on my cheese and garlic naan. Don't feel the price reflects well with the food I got, I don't think I'll be buying from them again which is a shame as I've been a regular since I moved to Newton.
Served quickly by girl in tracksuit place looked clean . food arrived quickly I loved the large sharing starter. I did not eat my main as I did not like the taste. Personal preference that's all. Found this place to have no atmosphere and was expensive for what it was. But again personal preference.
