Mayfield road, student flat Initially negative but they have come under new management and improved significantly. There were quite a few major issues with the property during the year we were tenants such as a broken boiler, broken furniture & doors and water pipe leaks. Initially it was hard to get repairs sorted but they did get them done, and even entirely re-tiled the shower completely where old tiles were cracked and leaking into the walls. The company has recently come under new management and is definitely improving e.g they've introduced a new online tenancy management system and have done a good job of handling issues through it. For the first half of the year we were tenants with imove I would not have recommended them, however they improved with the change of management and I think they are trying to keep improving. Our deposit was secured properly and returned fully after confirming we'd left the property clean and undamaged after moving out.
Despite claims which changed depending on who spoke to iMove from iMove, when we moved in the house, was NOT clean, nor had been cleaned by a ‘professional’ cleaner. One bedroom alone was cleaned by 5 adults and took 2 hours due to room not being in a habitable state. Additionally, emails are not replied to, calls are missed - one time I called 30 times in one week, one of them whilst walking past their office, agents sitting at their desks etc and it went unanswered, my friends and I are constantly having to chase problems up ourselves rather than iMove using their initiative and keeping us in the loop. Completely agree with the other review, I would 100% not recommend this agency to students - as problems are completely overlooked by the estate agents, which would not happen to those who are not students and are renting for themselves or their families. I have had to get my parents involved with the company since the beginning of the year as I never get replies/straight answers from iMove, and am constantly left waiting for days on updates on certain issues, which verge on emergencies, that should really be dealt with the same day they are reported. I would not even give iMove one star if it weren't for the fact I needed to rate them in order to post a review.
Having rented a property through this company as a student, and been told that all maintenance and services would be arranged by them, we are extremely unsatisfied by how we have been treated by this company. When we first moved in, having told them all 6 of us were coming to move in on the first day, they claimed they were unaware of 2 people moving in and had not had the rooms ready for them. Subsequently, upon us complaining that the house was growing black mould severe enough to irritate asthma, we were told that it was our responsibility for not opening windows and having the heating on two things we do regularly. The final straw came this month, in which we have only had hot water for 9 days, and every attempt to arrange the fixing of our boiler has been sidelined. We are having to chase up calls we were told would be 'returned shortly' hours after initial contact, it's taking them days at a time to move steps closer to fixing the boiler, and we have not had any formal apologies for being left without hot water or heating for well over a fortnight. The staff here are incompetent, they do not take responsibility for their actions and treat us like a second thought as opposed to their paying customers. We have now reached the point of threatening to withdraw rent payments due to their breach of contract, which specifies hot water and central heating will continuously functional during the rental period, and states that it is their responsibility to have it fixed in a timely manner.
Shocking customer service from imove, been lied to on numerous occasions and the letting agent acts really unprofessional. When something goes wrong it takes ridiculously long to get sorted. Our calls, emails and texts are regularly ignored. Definitely don't get a house through imove, you will 100% regret it.
Non existent customer service. Had problems throughout our entire tenancy, and none have been resolved. Do not get a house through iMove.
Ignorant. Also stole our garden equipment.
