With a fantastic yet uplifting history in having travelled by train thus visited this incredible yorkshire railway station 'in-person' plenty of times before, I recently revisited Ilkley railway station by train on 24/04/2026, with my accompanying P.A.nnThe weather was so brightly sunny, I took the opportunity in taking photos of the station which I do hope will keep both town and station firmly on the map,nnIlkley railway station - whom a modern 'two platform' terminus station in 21st century Britain, has brilliant access for all including those of whom disabled, is also dementia-friendly, consists of an adjacent car park that was once platforms 3 & 4. along with an M&S shopping store... not to mention a fantastic footbridge above the tracks from where you'll find thus marvel at views from as far as the eye can see.nnIt's always a pleasure to visit, as well as experience Ilkley by train, especially along the wharfedale line from leeds via kirkstall forge, guiseley, menston, burley-in-wharfedale, and ben rhydding en-route along the way... for whom Ilkley's also surrounded by incredibly outstanding scenery, let alone views of Ilkley Moor for which the spa town's also renowned for.nnHistorical Fact of Interest!nnIn it's heyday long before I myself were born Ilkley railway station was once a 'through four-platform junction station' for skipton via addingham, bolton abbey, and embsay... and also to harrogate via otley & pool-in-wharfedale until 1965 when all was brought to an end by the beeching axe, let alone British Rail whom thankfully forever spared the rest of the wharfedale line to and from both leeds & bradford.nnThank goodness Ilkley railway station now just a two platform station is still around, forever here for future generations.... I'd look forward to revisiting both town and station by train one day.nnTip-TOP.... 70 out of 70.
Basic toilet facilities but cleaned every morning. Lovely open field with electric hookup and water standpipes. A very short stroll into the beautiful little town of Upton which has several pubs to choose from! There's a lovely marina with bar/restaurant just opposite the meadow. We got a bus to Worcester one day and walked along the river into Tewksbury on another day.
Good train station well located with easy access to main Street
Ilkley railway station is small and beautiful. M&S food inside it makes it perfect. Please keep in mind it has No toilet at the station. Few snaps.
This train station maybe a bit small, but serves the purpose. Location is prime within the town with everything being just a few minutes walk from here. Immediately outside is bus station so hassle at all to move around.nThere’s a grocery store within the station with everything available including fresh fruits and vegetables as well as gifts and cards.nThere’s ample parking just outside the station.
