This place is a warehouse not open for public- the photos online are very misleading. Do not waste your time going there as you will not have access to the building. Only for workers.
Man, what a headache of a place. They make you jump through hoops just to get a trailer out of this place. Stop at security, stop again, walk through gate, book in, back to truck, find bay, drop empty, pull off loaded, drop loaded, put empty on bay, pick up loaded again. Back to office, back to security.... someone just kill me now.....
Absolutely shocked at the service i have received from such a big company. I spent £1,100 on furniture. First of all they sent me the wrong item, not much of an issue apart from waiting for a week causing delays, second of all I ordered a wardrobe with sliding doors and received nothing to actually attach the doors on. Two days off work I’ve had to take off due to this. I rang and they gave me a case number in order for the P&P to refunded as compensation. Rang again and they could not refund my £40 but yet offer me a £20 e voucher. That’s shocking as 1. i will not be ordering again, 2. i would have to spend an extra £40 on P&P just to use it. Asked to take it further and apparently there is no one further than the customer service woman on the phone, takes the piss to offer someone something and then say ‘oh no we can’t do that.’ I would still like to take this further.
Took students for a tour today. Staff were amazing and took their time to explain how each department worked when sending products out for delivery. A great visit. And a great big thank you to all the staff we met as guides and on the way around for their kindness and support.
IKEA are planning to restart recruitment at the end of March. My advice? Don't apply here. If you want to work in a place where favoritism is apparent in every aspect, you want to skip your contracted break allowance just to hit performance targets, then maybe this might be the place for you. But if not, don't bother. I used to work here, and left after a couple of months because there was a very clear trend of favoritism.nnTeam leaders are poorly managed, they are allowed to run free and wreak havoc across the shop floor, sacking co-workers for the smallest of things and just overall being the worst managers you will ever have in any job. They frequently break processes which they care so strongly about and simply do not care about you. Every single one of them only cares about covering their own backs and not the mental health or wellbeing of their co-workers of which they are directly responsible for.nnDepartments like Parcels are genuinely horrid to work in, it's so busy with the amount of pickers. The pack benches are always rife, filled with orders which are poorly sorted due to high KPIs causing pickers to rush, thus impacting the whole department. Quality checking process is horribly managed and the parcel quality personnel are typically more interested in covering their own back rather than caring about what pickers/packers have to say about damaged articles. Performance targets feel more like a lottery than anything else, as one day you might hit target or overachieve, and then the next day struggle to get over 150 pick lines/60 packed boxes.nnInterestingly enough, they're attempting to lay off 105 IKEA co-workers before the start of March, but they are planning to restart recruitment towards the end of March.. very peculiar, hmm?nnIn other words, don't waste your time here.. you will feel more like a machine than a human, and despite their values which they seem to care so deeply about, the team leaders do anything but follow the IKEA values.
