The location of the hotel was excellent. The view was perfect, too, from my room at Level 7. Good food options nearby. Located at Exchange Quay tram Station. Hotel is also a slow 20min walk to Old Trafford. It's really a budget hotel, so do pack every. Towel is provided in the room. Do pack your own amenities. Not much spaces to hang your clothes too, just 1 small section in the corner of your room. Nearby activities: Visit to Old Trafford. Walkability: Walking distance to Exchange Quay tram Station. Food & drinks: Domino's pizza, subways, Starbucks, Tesco express, a few others....
Staff were pleasant and prompt at check in on our arrival. The location is about a twenty minute walk to old Trafford cricket ground. The room was small and clean, as sown on their website, good value for money. We would definitely use this place again.
Cheap and cheerful rooms. Fast check in. Excellent showers. Rooms themselves were a bit sparse and there was some sort of weird bunk bed. They didn't even supply a cup for water but can't really complain for the price. Rooms: Rooms overlook the tram line so can be quite noisy with the window open. Walkability: 5 minute walk from the n Salford Quays tram stop.
Well what can you say about this place. After booking and paying £209 for one night, my expectations of this hotel were reasonably high. 1.I brought my daughter with me, so to my surprise they couldn't be bothered to make the bunk bed up. 2. The facilities in the room or beyond basic, they could have had easily made a complete bathroom out of the space used. Entrance to the shower was an opaque glass door directly into the room offering no privacy. 3. The toilet was basically a small cupboard. 4. And while looking at the normal prices for mid-week, I can't see how they can justify the prices charged because of local events. 5. None off your usual basics in the room, for example kettle etc.
The room was nice. Its quite small, but was clean & suited us fine. Great location & friendly staff. Breakfast was basic, but good. The pub across the road was excellent value & an easy walk. You can get a beer and a pizza 24/7 from reception.Rooms: 4/5
The location of the Ibis Hotel is great with a tram station being a two minute walk away for easy access to most attractions around the city. The view from our room on the sixth floor was beautiful especially during sunrise and sunset. On top of this, the staff were lovely and very accommodating. However, the bed was hard with horrible pillows giving us not the best sleeps we could've had. The toilet was quite literally in a cupboard and there were only two plug sockets underneath the TV for the whole room. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and are not staying for more than a couple days, otherwise you may be walking around with a sore back!
Comfortable room - basic but has all you need Very friendly and helpful staff Adequate breakfast although the cold drink machine was broken But the window didnt keep out the tram noise at all and was woken by it, so had a poor sleep. The tram lines go right by the window on that side of the hotel. Perhaps my window was faulty. Rooms: Basic but comfortable
The beds were so uncomfortable it was like been laid on a concrete pad. No sockets at the bedside - minor issue. Toilet room was tiny. Breakfast choice was horrendous too, nothing warm besides toast. Room was clean but for the price paid the standard has to be far better. Rooms: Very uncomfortable beds
I have waited over a week to write on here despite numerous emails to both the property and customer service I still can't get a valid reason why I'm not entitled to a full refund, my booking was not an advance purchase I made the booking at the desk in the foyer went to the room and sadly it wasn't for me came straight back to reception explained the situation and checked out . I must have been in the room less than a minute . The hotel still had rooms to sell online , nothing was used in the room and could be resold if needed. Apparently it says in their T&Cs a refund cannot be processed , WHY ?? Poor customer service all round Would be happy to discuss this further but nobody picks up the phone !!!!
I recently stayed at the ibis budget Manchester Salford Quays hotel and have mixed feelings about my experience. Let's start with the positives. The hotel boasts a prime location, situated right next to the iconic Old Trafford Stadium and the famous Coronation Street set. For sports enthusiasts and TV buffs alike, this is a dream spot. Additionally, the affordability of the hotel was a major draw for me. It's always nice to find accommodation that doesn't break the bank, especially in a popular tourist area like Manchester. One of the most commendable aspects of the hotel was its cleanliness. Upon arrival, I was pleased to find that the common areas and my room were well-maintained and tidy. It's always reassuring to stay in a clean environment, and this definitely contributed to a positive initial impression. However, despite these positives, there were several notable downsides to my stay, primarily concerning the staff and the room itself. Let's address the staff first. Unfortunately, I found them to be somewhat rude and unprofessional. On more than one occasion, I overheard employees making disparaging remarks about both colleagues and guests. This lack of professionalism left a sour taste in my mouth and detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, I encountered an issue at check-out where a staff member insisted I pay £12 for parking, despite the fact that I didn't have a car with me and hadn't utilized the parking lot. It took multiple attempts to clarify the situation, and I was left feeling frustrated by the miscommunication. Moving on to the room, while it was adequate for a short stay, there were a few notable discomforts. The beds were notably uncomfortable, leading to a restless night's sleep and even resulting in some back pain the following day. Additionally, the bathroom facilities left something to be desired. The toilet was incredibly small, and there was no lock on the door, which made for some awkward moments. Furthermore, the shower door didn't provide adequate coverage, leaving me feeling exposed while showering. In summary, while the ibis budget Manchester Salford Quays hotel offers a convenient location and affordable rates, the shortcomings in terms of staff professionalism and room comfort are significant drawbacks. If you're only staying for a night and can overlook these issues, it may suffice. However, for longer stays or those seeking a more comfortable experience, I would recommend exploring alternative accommodations in the area.
