The Role Play Village in Swadlincote is such a fantastic place to take small children and babies for safe play. It has lots of different activities such as role play, singing groups, messy play and seasonal/holiday related activities, there really is something for everyone. Emma is extremely patient, kind and fun. My daughter is excited when she knows we're going that day! Booking online is very easy with lots of slots to suit your routine, there are drinks/snacks and toilet facilities available. There is free parking at the rear of the building with only a one/two minute walk to the venue. This is a fantastic small business that strives for a place where kids can learn, engage, socialise and play.
I took my little boy here this week and he absolutely loved it! Lots of different rooms and toys they can play with. You can tell so much effort has gone into this place to make it so special for little ones. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
Fantastic facility for little people in Swadlincote. Charming role play village lovingly created and built by the manager, Emma. Lots of play scenarios over two floors - little ones can pretend to be doctors, vets, builders, emergency services, drive a bus, manage the post office, go shopping or keep house. Look out for seasonal extra play scenarios like play barbecue in summer and Santa's workshop at Christmas. Hot drinks and snacks available. Perfect place to relax with little ones. They do a sibling discount as well. Both my boys love it here!
Fantastic community asset for adults and children - my son always needs to be tempted out after the end of our session after playing in whichever areas he’s chosen that day. There are ‘zones’ but they’re not strictly enforced so if you want a cat from the vets in your circus lineup go for it! This does mean that sometimes it feels a bit chaotic as some previous commenters have said but I find that a plus when it comes to playing with small kids - if things are too regimented it’s harder to get stuck in, and also if you have more than one child with you one can play with the construction toys while the other role plays being a doctor and you can be playing with them both without having to make one swap activity. Obviously it’s polite to tidy up after yourself though not everyone does and Emma does a great job keeping a lid on things while simultaneously being around the entrance to sign people in. Emma’s ingenuity and child-centred approach is clear in every part of the site. A truly imagination-stimulating activity which has a 100% success rate with every child I’ve taken.
Fabulous place for my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves it.
We come regularly for music and messy play. Emma has always been very welcoming and easy to talk to, there are a variety of toys for the children to play with in the role play area whilst we wait for other parents and carers to arrive and my son loves it. The messy play varies and Emma takes on board what the children enjoy and what they don't for her future sessions, we know in advance what the messy play will be so we can plan the children's clothes in advance and I personally love that.
We booked Role Play village for our preschool childrens end of term party. It's was fantastic, the children thoroughly enjoyed all the role play area and dressing up in their roles. They had so much fun . Although snacks and drinks were on offer we had taken party food and Emma was amazing and helped to seat the children and hand out all the food. She made everyone feel very welcome and went around speaking to everyone While we prepared our little treat for our leavers , Emma kept them occupied for us by singing some songs, a wonderful place to take your little ones, can't recommend enough, definitely worth 5 stars
Such a great play centre for young children. I often bring my god-daughter for a treat. She loves all the dressing up and make believe play. Great value for money. Always greeted with a warm welcome, and a warm coffee while the little one plays.
My son 3 comes to role play and my daughter 9 monthsattends music and messy play and they both absolutely love it. Emma the owner tries her very best to make everyone welcome. There's drinks and refreshments available to purchase which is fantastic. The role play village is that good that My son asks to go there over anything else would deffo recommend to anybody looking for somewhere to take their little ones.
Very disappointed. Me and my friend paid in advance and booked a day for two children, we had issues booking as it was but then on the way there my car broke down and I was stranded with two toddlers. I instantly told the play centre & advised I didn’t want a refund just asked if we could move it to another day and I got the simple answer of ‘no’. Very unfair, we were new customers & it’s completely put me off even attempting to go back. What happened to having a heart? Being human? Just ridiculous.
