I’ve recently moved to the north east and the HSBC bank where I live has been closed down. I have needed personal support three times now which couldn’t be provided on line or over the phone. The staff in the Middlesbrough Branch have provided an excellent first class service, always with a genuine willingness to help and a smile.  You don’t get this  service from a machine in a banking hub.

After Lloyds Bank took more than two weeks to just open an account for me, I opened an account with HSBC under an hour. Their staff were pleasant and patient in responding to queries

Special thanks to Chris for helping me open my account in under 20mins. I had to come to HSBC after going back and forth with Lloyds bank for almost a week and a half.

My online application was taking a while so I went in to the branch. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Got my work done super quickly and efficiently.

Recently visited HSBC Middlesbrough regarding a problem with account opening. The customer service was so good. Mr. Andrew helped us and resolved the problem within minutes. We are so happy. Most recommended bank in Middlesbrough.

Very rude behavior of the customer assistant member who is old lady.. She Don't have patience to listen customer problem also. Very worst service I have ever seen. Barclays and llyods services are far better than these people services. I suggest please don't take account in HSBC bank. Very very very poor service... Poor service today and rude assistant. I went in to verify a business account which has been with them for years. To be told they can't see me due to the influx in students. Fair enough, so I ask how long is the wait? I don't know, OK can I make an appointment? To be told I'm not sure when we can fit you in. Walked out fuming will be going elsewhere!

When is your money not your money??!! When you bank with HSBC.  I paid a bankers cheque in, no issues with that. On the 4th day my phone app and online banking showed the cheque had cleared and funds were available, in addition to funds already in my bank account.  Went to  a shop to treat myself to something, card declined.  Went into the bank for an explanation.  Told that even though it now shows as available it won't be until the following Monday, in case the cheque gets recalled....now remember, this is a bankers cheque from Barclaycard. Got home and tried to pay my bills with the money that was in my account prior to the cheque. Payment declined. They blocked my account from any use.  Had to go back to the bank and sit like a Muppet while they unblocked my account, to pay bills in front of them, and then they put a block back on my account.  Regardless of the cheque, that is MY money!!!!! FCA here I come.....already started the complaints process.  To make matters worse, I've just come off the phone with the issuing bank and they said it's all been completed and transferred from their end!!  HSBC the Worlds Local Bank my A**se..... only interested in the wealthy.

no counters open on saturdays, but lady helped with machines depositing cheques very helpful would have preferred more staff on duty as had to wait to be seen,  time was about 9:15am  so hardly the busiest time of day. other people were also asking questions and requiring help with the machines
