Can't give full set of stars for a site you can't expire inside and out. Nice to do a lap around but very little to see otherwise.
This is an atmospheric ruin set in the picturesque heart of Howden. The ruined part of the Minster lies behind a fence and only part is accessible. The interior of the Minster is a little disappointing as it appears bare on entrance but it is worth exploring. The 'Mouseman' carpenter worked on the choir, the font cover is spectacular, the stained glass windows are interesting and there are a couple of medieval tombs. Allow about half an hour for a visit.
Beautyful old church. Amazing ruins of the old church. Highly recommend this place. Great place for bring your children there is a park and a beautyful Playground
An unfolding of one of the most beautiful preservation of history. Quietly revealing a secret garden to lives well lived decades ago. Seeping in history coupled with a presentation that is most welcoming to the visitor. Old hand in hand with the new as we are introduced to the teachings of the youngest generation in Hope that they will lead the gospel to the nations. Absolutely a must to see.
Fantastic piece of history set in the lovely village of Howden, an absolutely beautiful minster with well kept grounds. A grade 1 listed structure, well worth a visit.
A pretty little village with an interesting history that you can easily miss. On a sunny day it's worth an hour of your time to turn off the by-pass and visit the town centre.
Visited here thanks to English Heritage. Lovely Minster and the outside is stunning
The church has its own special atmosphere which I cannot forget! I searched about the history of the church. The church has started from 12C!! Howden Minster is historical church. The church has many story such as 17C civil war and Henry vlll.
A beautiful building with historical interest. Can be quite cold in the winter so warm clothes needed.
