In the heart of vibrant Hove sits this most delightful restaurant! Authentic high quality dishes served with a side of friendly vibrant Brighton style. This certainly is the jewel in the crown of fine Indian dining with friendly efficient service and it's subtle yet exotic interior offers a perfect dining experience! lose yourself in exotic spices, muted tones and lightly lite Indian sculptures! relax and indulge in a truly authentic delight and you could forget the grey wet Hove pavement just beyond the door.
Although this is a great pub for a drink and obviously very popular for its Sunday roasts, it didn't quite live up to our expectations. I went for the pork belly roast which was generous in proportion but very greasy. My husband had the fish and chips which he said was pretty tasteless considering we were yards from the sea ! Great friendly staff and good atmosphere so would definitley go back and happily drink here.
Had a meal here with friends on a Friday evening in January. The restaurant was full but as a result we found ourselves seated on a table right in front of the entrance door. With customers and staff coming and going throughout the 90 minutes we were there and quite a few nudging me when passing this got rather annoying. In addition, whilst the food and service was very good the sound of other customers was quite loud and at times this made it difficult to follow the conversation with my friends. My overall 4* score reflects the great food and service but if it had been less busy and we weren't sitting so close to the door it would have been more enjoyable.
Myself, 3 girlfriends and my baby niece arrived here on short notice this afternoon and the Maître d' and another lovely waiter were so accommodating despite being busy. They shuffled things around to find us a table for drinks and the booth was just perfect with a pram in toe! The waitress who served us was Jess I think but I can't be sure..She was really lovely and kind and after a hick up with the wine was gracious and so helpful. I can't wait to come back to dine here, and try out an igloo for sure! Such fabulous decor - feels like home from home! I've given four stars for food because it looked so good but I haven't tried :
Seriously enjoyed our meal! Good quality and great customer service. Will definitely be returning soon.
Ordered for delivery on a Sunday night and it came much more quickly than they said it would. Everything was delicious, they were happy to answer questions on the phone to make sure we got everything we needed. It's quite a lot cheaper if you call them directly rather than using Deliveroo, but is cash only for delivery. Will be my go-to delivery from now on.
Slightly more expensive than some Indian restaurants in the area but a lovely place to come for some food. Prompt service. Nice food and a lovely atmosphere. For eating in definitely a place to go.Food: 4/5
They forgot two things that we ordered. The Jalfrazi had hardly any sauce. The chicken in the curry was very dry! Disappointing as we have eaten inside before and was lovely. Not the cheapest place either!! Extremely dissatisfied. Won't be ordering from here again!!
Asked for advice about vegan food. Knowledgeable staff. Good range of well cooked not overcooked vegetables in the vegetable dansak that was made vegan for me. Delicious! Vegetarian options: Good for vegans
Food is outstanding! Waiting staff appalling. Rude, disinterested, passive aggressive. A real shame that a place that produces such great food has such awful staff. We won't go again...
