I wish I could give zero stars to this company! The cleaner did not complete the requested cleaning, and even when I offered to pay extra for her to return and finish the job, she refused, saying she had another job to go to. I've been in contact with the company for over five hours, sending emails, messages, and photos, but they have done nothing to resolve the issue. This is an extremely unprofessional company with poor customer service and unreliable cleaners. I do not recommend using their services.
Do not recommend. A cleaner did an appalling clean on our house missing the majority of items and completely failed to clean our windows even though I requested & paid for the window clean time as an add on and they damaged our stairs scratching every single stair. When the cleaner arrived, I specifically asked her to use the gentle round hoover brush on the stairs. My advice was clearly ignored. Housekeep claim to have a robust damage policy. They don't. They simply ask the cleaner if they caused any damage and they choose to take the cleaner's word for it when the cleaner obviously inevitably denies causing any damage. Our newly decorated stairs will need to be redone at a significant cost to us. When you bring an issue along with photos to Housekeep, they merely tell you that your contract is infact with the cleaner and to take it up with them separately. It begs the question, what is the point in using a middleman like Housekeep when they're not on hand to help when issues arise! Will never use Housekeep again and will be sharing our experience with friends and family so that they don't get caught out too.
Please don't use Housekeep! When they arrived we asked them to be careful of the new paint everywhere. They dismissively said yes and then walked in, dragging their bag along the wall. They used the hoover so vigorously that they have broken bathroom floor tiles. They have marked and damaged the skirting in several places. They have scratched the living room floor in several places from dragging furniture. They blocked the kitchen sink so badly tha after 3 bottle of unblocker it's still blocked! The kitchen radiator is really dirty The wall tiles in the bathroom are really dirty. A part of the floor in the bathroom was left really dirty. They left the dining table and coffee table in the middle of the room. They didn't put anything back in the correct place. They moved the sofa in one of the bedrooms and didn't move it back. They cleaned the carpet but not the part where they moved the sofa to. When I had to move it back, it was dirtier than the rest of the carpet. They left a picture hanging from it's corner. They didn't clean dust from the floor in the hallway and laundry room. The bathroom tile will cost £200-300 to have replaced. The living room floor will be £1000 or more. The skirting needs repaintng, so this will be £300. We know all of these prices because we have just had the whole house painted and decorated!! Please don't use Housekeep!
BEWARE: the positive reviews are clearly fake!! These pics are after 4 different cleans by 3 different Housekeep cleaners. We have consistently been absolutely shocked and appalled at the level of cleanliness provided by Housekeep - or lack thereof. I must say, each cleaner has been very nice and they’ve been lovely to our cat as well. But their cleaning abilities are non-existent. Each time, our home was left filthy and we've had to re-clean. We requested cancellation of our subscription after the first clean and we were assured if we keep our subscription we would be getting the best cleaner in the area. She was also bad. We decided to try her again - she was marginally better but altogether still bad. Just reiterating, we cleaned our home after both housecleans by this "best" cleaner. We thought perhaps there was a language barrier, or that we needed to be absolutely crystal clear about our expectations. So today, we provided an absolutely clear checklist of what we wanted cleaned. Again, extremely disappointing clean provided. Each time we've had a Housekeep cleaner, things that were not dirty were left dirty, things that we wanted cleaned were untouched or poorly cleaned, and there was loose dirt and hair everywhere. In addition to the poor cleaning provided, we have concerns about the cleaning products that are used. Each time we’ve paid for the cleaners to bring their own products and each time the products that they’ve brought have been sketchy to say the least. One cleaner brought what looked like watered-down washing up liquid in a fairy bottle. The cleaner today used Elbow Grease cream cleaner for EVERYTHING - picture frames, the toaster, kitchen cabinets and even our French press. This is extremely concerning as cream cleaner is quite toxic and is NOT food safe. Housekeep should be mandating what products and the quality of products cleaners are using and ensuring they understand how and where to use them. Even with a discount – in fact, even if we were offered free cleans – we have no desire at all to ever use Housekeep’s services again. Ever. We gave the company 4 whole chances to provide an average clean, at the very least. And we never received that. We’ll gladly take our money elsewhere.
I work with housekeep as a cleaner and so far it has been good. The customers have been very nice and all explained the work I needed to do clearly. The app is easy to use, and the support team have been very good, answering any questions I have and helping with a problem I had with a customer who wasn't in at time booked. All cleaning jobs I've done have been 5* rated. This has been a good week for me. Enjoying it so far.
They are the worst cleaning company! They damaged my floor during my end of tenancy cleaning! This caused me a lot of trouble and money at inventory check-out. The customer service is inconvenient to use. They don't have a direct phone call. One of a cleaner damaged my floor because by putting hot iron on the floor directly. I fixed it. Then they damaged my floor again at my end of tenancy cleaning, left a lot of marks on. I am going to SUE THIS COMPANY!
DONT USE THIS COMPANY! Scam City! Damages to the house, didn’t finish the work, they overcharge you as well! I have proof that they spent 3 hours not 5, I only paid for 1 hour only wanted 1 hour because I didn’t know it took 2 absolute idiots not to change 4 switches in an hour. DONT USE THEM, their customer service is shocking!!! As you can see from the photos they arrive at 10:30 then leave at 13:30.. doesn’t seem like 5 hours to me! Carpet ruined as they used dirty heavy duty boots on new carpets… Michael and I were talking about these issues, multiple emails many hours wasted with them, they emailed on a Saturday and closed the case Monday morning because I didn’t respond…. DO NOT USE THEM. I know of 40 - 50 other people who’ve used them who will also be reviewing. Get a proper company, call local electricians who are reliable pay a little more. Don’t use housekeep their cleaning service is also rubbish.
We have had the same cleaner for 3 weeks now through Housekeep and she is fantastic. My house has never been so clean and she is polite and helpful. Would highly recommend.
First clean was cancelled with extremely short notice. I had taken time off of work in order to get the regular cleaner set up, handover keys etc. It was subseqeuenly rescheduled for a Wednesday I wanted a Friday but apparently this was not possible for weeks on end The Wednesday rolls around and the cleaner arrives. She was pleasant enough but seemed not to have much with her a small backpack, i had paid for the cleaner to bring products. I thought I'd give the benefit of the doubt and so showed her where all my cleaning products were if she would like to use any of it. The cleaner gets on. 2 hours in to my 3.5 hour clean she has only just finished upstairs 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. I'm thinking it must be spotless! She comes downstairs still with an additional bathroom, the kitchen, the lounge and hall to clean. She tells me she won't get it all done and that the company understandestimated the length of the job. I offer to add another half hour to the job on the app and she agrees. She starts doing downstairs. Time rolls on and it's almost an hour and a half over her time. I told her to go as I had somewhere to be and that I would do the rest. Thinking it was just to take the bins out. She left and I looked around the house. Well I was disgusted. Every glass surface in my house covered in what only could be described as grease , my windows, mirrors, hob top etc. The house smelt like dank water evidently no cleaning products used for cleaning the floors !. She had put a soaking wet mop into the cupboard under the stairs which I'm glad I found! The bedrooms were still dusty, as was all the skirting round the house. The stairs had not been hoovered and to add insult to injury she left a massive muddy footprint in the hall when she put her shoes on to leave. Housekeep customer service were apologetic but difficult! A refund was refused. 2 hours credit was added to my account even though I explicitly stated I did not trust their judgement and did not want to use their services. Do not use this service if you have visions of a lovely clean fresh smelling home. If you want a musty smelling house that's been doused in grease, then this is the company for you!
ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING COMPANY Do not use!!! There’s thousands of better options! Don’t let them fool you. I had a terrible experience with Housekeep and will never use their service again. They charge clients £18.50 per hour but pay their cleaners only £11.50, pocketing £7 an hour per cleaner no wonder many of the cleaners lack experience! They also charge £6 for “cleaning products,” but only pass £4 to the cleaner, who is the one actually buying the supplies. I found this out after a cleaner informed me, and further research confirmed it. Housekeep’s model feels exploitative and unprofessional. The quality of service reflects their poor treatment of staff. Definitely not worth the money or the hassle as customer service is practically impossible to resolve anything with. Good job you guys are asking your staff to leave 5 star reviews otherwise you’d never see a 5 star!
