Top tip - if it's busy and you want a coffee then this place will be quiet. Me and my wife came here on the Saturday before Christmas with our 4 month old son because we knew we'd get a seat and the place had lifts to help get the pram to the restaurant. With regards to the rest of the place - I don't have too much bad to say other than it's a bit dark inside and a touch dated.
I perchanced a cast iron pan at a very good price and the staff were very nice and helpful.
After the initial disappointment of losing out on my Gift Card I fell out with Hoff. They then came up trumps and refunded my card. I then got round to shopping and found the most gorgeous Cashmere dress. Having placed my order, it arrived within 5 days. I'm thrilled with they way things have turned out. Thank you House of Fraser
Really like the label lab range of clothes stocked here. Always found a pair of shoes or a handbag too. What a shame its closing. Let's hope its not taken over by an aggressive monster company that sells everything with its name on in enormous gaudy letters.
I’m ashamed to say it really.... especially given how close the store came to closing BUT...... I’m not surprised! If you look at Selfridges, John Lewis, Debenhams, Flannels etc etc.... they are all smart clean and stylish! However, House of Fraser just feels claustrophobic, tired, dated and dirty! The layout isn’t very good and the stock variety is dated too!
I would like to thank all the staff, especially Sheila, who went out of their way to help my friend and I today. We left the store feeling like celebs because of the first class service we received. We enquired about the personal shopping experience, which sadly wasn't on offer at this store- but they went out of their way to provide the equivalent. I would highly recommend this store to others.
As one would expect from a premier store, polite staff, but as is usual these days, sometimes difficult to find a member of staff. Ordered online for pick up, process excellent. Signage could be improved to find the collection point.
Very nice store. Good range of handbags and shoes. Jewellery selection is small but good. Usually find nice day dresses and Biba tops here. Basement has a good range of menswear. There's a cafe too.
Always enjoy a 'browse' but never leave without a little spend, or a lot of the time, a big spend. It has been a favourite for over 40 years. Unfortunately the floor space has been greatly reduced and it isn't the brilliant store it once was. That said it is still worth a visit, there are luxury goods and bargains to be had. Big brand names in handbags, shoes, clothes as well as makeup/perfume. Men's dept downstairs. I did hear recently that it maybe converted into offices & other shops but not sure if that's true or when it's planned. It will be a shame to lose it.
Some good deals in the closing sale. However, we came across two very rude sales staff in the make up section. They put us off making a purchase. No wonder they're closing.
