Terrible is all I can say . Rang over 2months ago with a sore throat needed to get it checked out because I was going in for laser surgery to be told by reception pop of the chemist they good at things like that ?. Since having treatment kept ringing to be fobbed of. Have now been diagnosed with throat cancer.
I've used this doctors for a couple of years and tbh they are extremely hit and miss but overall love to brush you off, I've had ongoing issues with my health for years and no matter how much I begged there was never much help and never taken that seriously to the point my weight plummeted, heart rate was all over the place, paramedics out for sinus arrhythmia, I was in a state, even had a nurse having words with the doctor on my behalf due to how worried she was about me and nothing would get done... long story short again I got brushed off and told I had to live with all my health issues. Fast forward a year I'm now under a private specialist, have a diagnosis, an action plan and finally the support I desperately needed. I think as a surgery they dont care enough, I've been left to suffer for years with 2 young children depending on me. Have to say the nurses seem to have the biggest level of care, I've even had prescriptions sent to the wrong child and it was the medication I specifically explained she couldnt have, she was 2 and had been so poorly she had been hospitalized, the medication was important but clearly not to them. Also been left in the waiting room over an hour with a newborn and a 2 year old as the snotty receptionist didnt mark me in.
Terrible service, can not get an appointment, despite some major issues.asked at another surgery and they advised me to goto A & E Waited 5 weeks to have an appointment canceled! Another serious issue not diagnosed after years, yet went elsewhere and they immediately found the problem. Skin sample lost, no results. Haha what a joke.. See you in court thank you for making this easy
If you are on holiday and need to see a doctor good luck if you pick this surgery, things are not as simple as their website may suggest! At first I was told that to get an appointment I would need to register and if I did this I could phone up the next day and make an appointment to see a doctor. I went to the surgery straight away but what a waste of time. The receptionist didn't seem the least interested in my request and said that if I made a request for an emergency appointment I could see a paramedic the next day.I explained that I didn't want to see a paramedic and it was not an emergency but I just wanted to see a doctor regarding a medical problem. She said to see a doctor I would have to wait a week, at which point I told her to forget it and left.Shortly after I phoned the surgery to query their appointment system only to be advised that if I wanted to be seen earlier I should go to the hospital or go to another doctors, either Dunster or Porlock. She then added that the paramedics are highly trained, which I never doubted for one second! However,as I wanted to see a doctor for an undiagnosed ailment why could I not see one? When I tried to pursue this question I was then given the classic accusation of becoming aggressive. Sorry, if you cannot defend your answer do not use the "aggressive" accusation scenario as being a closure of the conversation. I would also like to add that a few years ago when visiting Minehead my wife had cause to visit this surgery. She was dealt with in an exemplary manner, both efficiently and courteously. On that occasion there was no need to register and no need for anything other than a compliment, how things have changed!
Went to this dr many times about period pain and my mental health, with every Dr i saw dismissing me. They said i would grow out of it, im nearly 30 with all the same issues. I moved to Essex and i was diagnosed with PCOS within a year of being there and i have just been diagnosed with autism. This Dr surgery doesn't care about young people or womens struggles. Highly recommend you DO NOT use this surgery.
They could not care less. I could write an essay on how bad this surgery is, but that sentence sums it up. I imagine many people have become far more unwell than they needed to be after being brushed off by this place. I wish there was an alternative locally.
Absolutely disgusting service. Advised to call due to being asthmatic and away on holiday as per 111 instructions, as own inhaler failed. Was strictly told by 111 I needed to be seen within the hour to get reviewed and for a new prescription. The receptionist whose mannerisms were far from professional and whose telephone manner was also disgusting responded ,” Go to A&E they should sort you out!” Firstly what a waste of resources and secondly how inexcusable. Is it any wonder the NHS is so stretched when a simple prescription can’t be sourced or an appointment given simply for a prescription! Being a healthcare professional myself I’m appalled and disgusted with this service. Being asthmatic is a life threatening condition with out treatment of a simple inhaler I most definitely would have ended up in A&E requiring more than just a prescription!!! I’m sure CQC would be equally appalled
This surgery has been brilliant towards my husband and myself since moving to Minehead in October 2017. My husband had to be admitted to Musgrove Hospital due to cellulitis and possible sepsis. The aftercare has been superb with the various GPs giving their assistance with the condition my husband had and having to have more antibiotics due to his condition. Receptionists and nurses are very helpful too.
Hard working bunch, trying their best
A VERY good service. And in these very difficult times i think that they are doing an excellent job
