I highly highly highly recommend hot mess!! I was looking for a place to do my bridal makeup, and when I saw a place called Hot Mess I thought “wow that’s me!” I communicated back and forth with Max who is amazing, and was very accommodating and responsive and made me excited to be a client! I drove down to the salon in Asbury for my bridal trial, and I walked in as they were finishing up wedding makeup. The vibe was SO FUN! The artists were chatting with me and my MOH as we were waiting and they had music playing and just a great environment. Then I got to start working with Chelsea who is incredible. Not just as an artist but just as a human being. She was bubbly and fun and was so excited to create beautiful eyeshadow colors to match my wedding vibe, which she picked up on right away. I was so comfortable. Fast forward to the wedding day, and the vibes stayed the same. Chelsea met us on location, instantly got us pumped, music going. The bridesmaids loved her as much as I did, and we all felt and looked beautiful. I also have to add that I have VERY problematic skin, like really bad acne and I was so worried about it for the wedding day but she explained how she would conceal it and reassured me the whole time and then when I saw my face I almost ruined it by crying. It was the most beautiful I ever felt. Highly recommend this place to anyone, but especially for wedding makeup.Service: Makeup services
Let me start with…I have really fine, thin hair. Super fine. It doesn’t do much and it’s constantly a stressor, particularly after some postpartum hair loss on top of it. As I began hunting for a hair stylist and studio that could help me bring my wedding updo request to life, I was really worried that I wouldn’t be able to accomplish what I wanted because my hair made for such a restricted palette to start with. I had a trial elsewhere and just wasn’t happy, leaving me more disheartened. My sister kept urging me to try Hot Mess in Asbury because Tara and her team were crazy talented. Finally I listened and scheduled a consultation/trial. From the moment I walked into the salon, Tara and Michelle were amazing and all of the fine hair insecurities dissipated. Tara walked me through a few things we could do that would get me to the FULL style that would make me feel as pretty as a bride deserves to be on her special day. She was confident in being able to create something just as I’d envisioned and shared with my inspiration photos. We started with a balayage on my non-colored hair so natural- just as I wanted!, and then played with clip in extensions since I didn’t want the future upkeep with traditional extensions. Michelle custom colored my extensions to match my new balayage color for the day of. Tara played with a few options in my trial and absolutely nailed it on the day of. The added boost of the clip ins made for a stunning updo that I didn’t have to think about for the entire rest of the day. It held the whole evening and I was thrilled with how it all turned out! We even added some simple pearls for little extra glam. I’ve never had so much hair in my life! : Thank you, Hot Mess team for turning my anxiety into confidence and for your talented artistry. Side note: we also hired Jess for makeup for some of my girls and she did a great job as well. Everyone felt beautiful and happy! You guys filled my day…and photos…with beautiful, lasting memories!! I cannot thank you enough for being warm, fun, and amazing at what you do. If you have fine hair, rest assured, the Hot Mess team’s got you!!!
The most talented group of artists in Monmouth county for hair, nails and facials!! I go frequently for blowouts, you cannot go wrong with any of the girls. Simone and Karla give incredible mani/pedis and great conversation which is an added bonus. Julie and Simone also do my waxing/facials and make both experiences customized to your needs. Could not be luckier to have such nice and talented group of ladies in my town.Services: Blowouts
There was magic at work on Sunday morning when Alicia kindly and punctually opened the salon for me. My hair never looked more gorgeous than it did when she completed my 1/2 up 1/2 down bridal shower dew. And it stayed beautiful even through the pouring rain that day. I had so many compliments on my makeup and hair, I think I will always try to find a reason to travel all the way from Tennessee to get back to Hot Mess Studio in Asbury. Many compliments to Max for fast response to my initial inquiry. First class all the way.
Excellent mani-pedi experience in every way. Simone was absolutely wonderful and the salon was clean and comfortable. I really like the polish option which dried so fast I could put shoes and socks on to leave the salon - unheard of! From a warm and friendly response to my call for an appointment through checkout, it was great all around.Services: Pedicure
Simone is the only person allowed to touch my brows! She keeps them so full and clean and natural. Also she’s just a really pure soul. 10/10 recommend her for eyebrow wax / nails / facials.
My mother purchased us Groupons for mani/pedi's. We had 9 & 10 appointments with their nail tech on site. The place was beautiful, modern, trendy, clean. They do everything here, hair, nails, makeup, waxing, eyelashes, eyebrows and there's a store attached for shopping. It has everything you need. The staff was BEYOND helpful, friendly, cheerful, it was a wonderful experience. They were able to squeeze me in for a wash and cut. The owner went put of her way to make sure I was able to get an appointment. Our nail tech was Jenn, she was awesome and down to earth. The young lady that cut my hair was Janelle, she was a doll. Can't wait to go back. If you're on the fence about going, GO.
A beautiful space, with a warm and welcoming staff. Jackie Fittante is amazing with both color and cut and she's just a doll! I get a ton of compliments on my hair. Thank you for making me feel and look amazing!
