I booked a table on Sunday 17th December. We arrived promptly and staff took our order within 10 minutes of our arrival. It then took 45 minutes to get us our starter course; I had requested glasses of water from two different staff and as they still failed to arrive within 20 minutes I ended up going to the bar to ask for them myself. After receiving our starters, your staff ASKED if it was OK for the adult orders to be served before the kids pizzas were ready, this is not how I enjoy a family meal out, as I prefer to eat together. The food was OK, unfortunately not good enough to compensate for the poor service. Staff were difficult to find, again had to go to the bar to request more drinks but then as we were still eating our main course, staff attempted to clear the table, this is totally unacceptable to me. I could have understood delays if the restaurant was busy but it wasn’t. I informed the staff how unacceptable the service was and they agreed, but could not offer any reasonable explanation as to why that was. I was very disappointed with the entire experience and will not be returning.
Absolutely dire experience. Took my daughter for a treat. She ordered a kids pizza and I ordered off a special menu, my order came out without half of what was supposed to be included, we waited a while and my daughters pizza never came out, I had to go up twice to ask where her pizza was and the rest of my food, a table beside us was the same-they were brought their food out randomly. I had finished what they had brought me before it got cold and STILL waiting on a tiny pizza which eventually came out, the bottom of the pizza was burnt and she didn’t enjoy it. As she was finishing her pizza the waitress brought out the rest of my food and slammed it on the table without a word, it was inedible. The waitresses were really rude and they kept blaming the kitchen staff which was very unprofessional, they acted like as a paying customer wanting to know where my food was I was acting out of line. The bill was ridiculous and I complained. I was asked to leave my name and number and a manager would call me back. It’s now over 4 weeks later and still no phone call. I’ll never be back and I’ll make sure no one I know wastes their money in here either. Awful.
Restaurant is well furnished and modern... service can be quite slow, even when they are not busy... Staff are friendly... Food was average pizza wasn't amazing and cost was OK £36 for 1 starter, pizza, drinks & kids meal. Think we got overhyped before going to hot igloo and got let down :- it has the potential to be a high end restaurant with some needed improvements in service and food.
Was in for lunch yesterday with my elderly mother ...this was not the first time I have been here ..it is my third.... although the food was really tasty I feel it was expensive. Mum ordered the beer battered cod which she enjoyed....but the price was £12.95 ... there was no lunch menu on as Saturday ...which ment the same dish would have been £ 7.95 through the week. No tap water available as plumbing issues !!! No sure I believed this .... my pizza was gluten free and although I choose the expensive toppings salmon anchovies rocket goat cheese.....i felt 8.95 for the base then all the topping extra !!! £2 FOR GOATS CHEESE .....i could buy cheese cheaper by the weight in Tescos the whole bill was £31 for lunch ....
Just home from Hot Igloo and have to say service was second to none and all the meals superb bill was £110 for 5 people and this included 2 sirloin steaks fish pasta and a pizza and wine and Guiness for 4 and Coke then another wine and 2 cokes oh and one dessert. At approx £22 per person this is exceptional value. There was no rush and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Second time there will defo be there more often
Situated in the heart of Glengormley can be found Hot Igloo. This is a superb family friendly and family run Italian Restaurant. We my wife, two daughters and I had a meal for Four gift voucher which we decided to use. I’ve had pizza here before and found it very good and so knew what to expect. There is ample space inside for couples, families and small to large groups. Especially popular is the family friendly Pizza making parties/ facilities available and is hugely popular for kids birthday parties indeed there was one taking place when we arrived, looked fabulous!!. The restaurant has recently added car parking at the rear.

Hot Igloo opened earlier this year and it’s unique feature is that it houses Ireland’s largest Wood fired oven, which is shaped and coloured white....hence the name!!! The menu is Italian based pizza and pasta, but there are many other delicious and appetising dishes such as the hanging skewer. Rumour has it that the menu is being changed.

Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming and engaged very well with us especially my two daughters and this was a rather nice touch. She took our drinks order and promptly served us 4 waters and an orange Sanpellangrino. Then she took our meal order which was a Sharing platter for two we had calamari, hot wings and breaded mushrooms with a bbq dip and garlic dip. The girls ordered a pepperoni pizza and penne Carbonara we asked chef to substitute the spaghetti for penne which he duly obliged.

The calamari was ‘skinny chip’ in size and perfectly cooked as was the breaded mushrooms. The wings were meaty and full of flavour and not too spicy I would have liked them hotter and the four of us tucked in and enjoyed very much. The dips complimented the starters very well.
For our main course my wife chose beer battered cod and chunky chips, I went for the surf and turf skewer with nan. The cod was crisply battered and it was a good size. This was served on a bed of chunky chips with side salad and tartare sauce and mushy peas. This was a superb cod and chips.
My surf and turf was kind of adjusted by me ie I had chicken instead of beef and chef skewered my prawns and lightly seasoned it before grilling and the result was delicious crunchy prawns and al dente vegetables Mediterranean style. He cooked the chicken breast separately as it needed longer. The nan was freshly prepared in the hot igloo and was fluffy and tasty and it was served along with salad, slaw and a subtle garlic dip. The prawns were crunchy and juicy and cooked to perfection. Chicken was moist and succulent and the whole dish surpassed my expectations!!

My girls finished with a strawberry and candy floss slushie respectively. Overall this was a very well presented meal, tasty and faultless in all departments and thoroughly enjoyed by us all. The service was superb and staff very helpful. Love the layout and decor. Certainly worth a trip to Glengormley!!
Hot Igloo gets a big thumbs up! Decorated to a very high standard which gives a real homely warmth to it. The igloo stoneoven adds so much character and it's great to see the delicious pizza getting freshly made. Staff are friendly and very good with children! And as for the food, absolutely delicious! My family and I will most certainly be back.
Lovely dry pizza base, with no grease a real surprise and treat for Glengormley. They had a kids party while I was there with kids making their own pizzas, made the whole Hot Igloo experience very family friendly.
Food is so so. Service was slow. What really irritated me was the waiter clearing the table while my daughter was still eating her meal. Then he came back wanting to take her plate while she still had food in her mouth.
Just wow!!!! First time in tonight and the staff were so pleasent so it was a great atmosphere from the doors opened. Food was amazing & priced well.. Very impressed i will be back
