Just visited on Valentines day first time since it was Hot Chilli and what a different everything was great, the food, the service and I loved the decor, especially the cherry trees I only dropped it a star on atmosphere as it was quiet, I'm sure it would be much better on a busy Saturday night. I definitely recommend the onion bhaji's and prawn Karkahi, which my partner had. Two things I would suggest, however, to make it even better...1 tidy up outside, the discarded fridges don't give a good impression and 2. Increase your selection of drinks to include more flavoured gins and vodkas and draft beer. But that's just our taste. We'll definitely be coming back on Thai Wednesday's. Vegetarian options: Good selection, basically pick any dish and they'll make it vegetarian with vegetables or Paneer.
Excellent choice of dishes. The food was delicious and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended Parking: Plenty of parking on the car park.
Really nice meal, hot, tasty, great choice, nicely decorated inside & brilliant service especially the lad from Rochdale
Great food, lovely decor, pity about the junk outside its very off putting. However the staff are very friendly with a good choice of meals for everyone. The house white wine delicious. Crispy poppadoms, and the best Lamb Bhuna I've ever had. Highly recommended. Parking: Plenty of spaces
We have been to Desi Palace numerous times, and usually you can't fault the food or service. However, last night was appalling. It was over a hour and half before our food orders were taken, and another hour before we received any food at all. The service was terrible and the food mediocre. The staff seemed more concerned about answering the phone for takeaway orders rather than serving their dining customers. Desi Palace you have to do better if you're going to keep your loyal customers!!! With the cost of living crisis, people aren't going to waste their hard earned money on an inferior service. We were going to book a table for new year's eve, but I certainly say that will not be happening now!
Noted the below comments and having checked the Food Standards Agency rating as a 2, I knocked off a star accordingly. So 4 stars - yes the food is that good. In a party made up of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities and people from opposite ends of the country; the concensus was that this was hands down the best Indian meal people had ever experienced. Certainly my main, a Rogan Josh mildly spiced by request the best I had ever tasted. Starters came and immediately the size of the onion bhajis drew gasps. Given the price was so reasonable and I was starving I'd gone for something a bit more substantial worried onion bhajis wouldn't be enough. I needn't have worried. The things are huge and delicately made. Probably the best in the UK. Others had a mixed grill affair, cake in a sizzling plate, served with salad. Impressive, cooked perfectly, flavours incredible. Mains were equally impressive, one member went for the vindaloo and was sweating by the end, but meat was so tender, expertly prepared in a lavish sauce. The same could be said of the other curries on the table. Rice dishes and naan breads all present and correct. No complaints. A note on the staff, very friendly, very efficient and very helpful. Our server forgot name was making jokes of an appropriate nature, and the impression given was that nothing was too much trouble. All in, a 2 star hygiene rating would probably motivate the staff to improve things, after all you can't have so much pride in your food to be so well recognised, without having the wherewithal and determination to put things right. Absolutely outstanding food and even though Indian cuisine is not my favourite, I'd have no hesitation in returning here nor recommending it.
First time ordering online for home delivery. Food arrived over 40 mins late. Two hungry children waiting until after 7pm to eat tea. When I phoned twice, they didnt seem to be able to track down the driver. The second time the phone was put down on me whilst i was speaking. Food was quite nice but arrived stone cold so my husband spent another 10 mins heating up via microwave, which defeats the object of getting a takeaway! Won't be ordering home delivery from here again.
Lovely restaurant and service is always good. Friendly staff and great selection of food. The chef is great and always surprises us with his great flavours. No party is to big or to small for them. They got it all covered. My family had a great time at this restaurant and we surely will return many more times. Thumbs up and see you soon.
Hot chilli is now boasting a new menu which has exceeded it's expectation and is as good as ever. They have a wide range of starters, main dishes, speciality dishes, sides and more. They are licences and serve an outstanding pint of Cobra. They also serve a wide selection of wines, spirits and cider. The staff are warm, polite and friendly. They will cater for you specific needs and can be flexible. All dishes are reasonably priced and delicious. The decore is clean and moden and has a nice ambience. My recommendations include - for the fish lover s. Fish pakora lightly spiced battered fish. This is very tasty and light and crisp. Not a heavy batter Tandoori king prawns, Keema bhuna or for the vegiterians sagwala spinach dish also nice with lamb or lamb biriani tasty rice dish that comes with a curry sauce of the menu dishes are available.
Loved this place ,the staff are so welcoming, hot fresh food . The deco is beautiful Parking: Lots of parking at the side of the restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access close to the door
